Have we had any promo, spoiler shots of Missy beyond Episode 1?

Is it possible Missy teleports off Skaro (and regenerates) into the face of Capaldi and goes to meet Davros as a kid and tries to kill him (I'm going to save my "friend" the only way I know how?) hence the last scene last night?

Did we ever get an explanation in previous seasons, Doctor stories, why Davros went green and was debiltated into his walking bot thing?

OK, and relax.

I was also wondering about Missy it seems implausible if Clara can be "saved" she wont be also?

Spoiler
There's at least one shot in the trailer (when she's leaning down to say hello) that hasn't yet been seen, so as per the expected she survived that little zap.

Are we all convinced Clara will leave at the final episode or will they write her out mid series.

Probably just a bit of fluff so to speak, but an article is claiming that Michelle keegan is current favourite to become the new companion and that the odds of her doing so have been slashed recently.

Every time a companion leaves we get a raft of stories about how so-and-so is now the bookies favourite.
Usually these have no basis in reality and are often based only on which pretty actress the picture editor fancies and who will sell papers or work better as click-bait.

Out of that lot, Michelle is probably one of the likelier choices but probably won't be her though.

Which is why I put 'probably just a bit of fluff', but thought it of interest all the same to see the kind of names being touted for the job.

I know, and I agree with you - it's always fascinating to see who gets suggested (often by over-eager agents) for the role.
At the moment some are fairly plausible, like Michelle Keegan (though I really hope she's not actually up for the job), and other youngish actresses like Hettie Bywater or Maisie Williams. There are also some rather less plausible ones, such as pretty much everyone else from Game Of Thrones, and, God help us, Kim Bleedin' Kardashian...

I'm thinking that Missy survives being zapped in exactly the same way that she survived being zapped at the end of the last series (however that was!!) and Clara survives because her vortex wotsit was linked to Missy's.

We still haven't seen the reported shot of Clara lying on the ground with Missy standing above her. That must be when Clara finds out that she (Clara) is not dead after all - or, at least, not dead in the sense that Clara would understand.

Do NOT click on this link if you want the plot of the next episode to remain a surprise:

It gives away a HUGE part of the plot.

You have been warned.

Just out of interest, is this a new thing - the Daleks vaporising their victims? I seem to recall they always left corpses.

Good point.
But... maybe Missy and Clara weren't *gasp* actually exterminated after all.
Surely Moffat hasn't tricked us all, again...

Maybe that's what Maximum Extermination meant, rather than just exterminating them a little bit.

"Maximum extermination" was enacted in The Stolen Earth to blow up a house - so pretty much.

In this case, it was clearly applied to cover up the fact that Missy and Clara teleported out...

What we need is Canton Tuperware III to reassure us that Clara and Missy are "most certainly dead." He is the only person I will ever believe on these matters.

Though, to be honest, it's a bit of the plot that's not too difficult t predict.
Spoiler
We didn't really think Missy and Clara were dead, now did we?

I would say it states the obvious rather than gives away

I'm not sure...

Spoiler
It has completely destroyed my theory that this year's story arc would be Clara dying multiple times, with the Doctor saving her and trying to find out why

Why would you think that anyway when they already did that in series 7?.

Well, however she goes, I wish Jenna all the best for the future and hope her successor (whether male or female) will be as good.

Clara, no matter how divisive her character was, will be missed.

The new Radio Times has not included either Clara or Missy in the cast list for The Witch's Familiar.

Although they do have a big two-page interview with Michelle Gomez earlier in the issue.
And Clara was mentioned in the blurb for several episodes in the Episode Guide in last week's Radio Times.
And the quote from episode 2 was so obviously a Missy line of dialogue.

Other than that, Radio Times, you've really convinced us that Clara and Missy are dead and are never going to be seen in Doctor Who again.

It's a bit difficult for anyone to do this after that series 9 trailer showing us plenty of shots of Clara in future episodes, including the one where the Doctor runs out of a barn and hugs her - possibly the scene where he finds out she's still alive.
