I think Christine looks great, not dangerously thin, just normally thin. When she was talking to the skaters in the dance off, I noticed that Samia is equally slender, so why aren't people saying the same thing about her?

Because there are more overweight people these days, and also because the average dress size seems to have gradually gone up, some people seem to find a naturally slim person abnormal!

She might have felt under pressure to lose weight to avoid looking "fat".

The lady who used to be in Coronation Street, she is in Mr Selfridge now is quite skinny but no-one would seems to ask if she is eating enough. Some people are thin, some are heavier. That is the way life is. Would it be acceptable if Holly was on, to ask if she was eating too much? Of course, it wouldn't. Both women look fine and are just different shapes

Exactly! Why is it somehow considered acceptable to say someone is too thin? It's just as insulting as saying they are too fat.

Also why do people only say it about women? David Tennant, for example, always looks ultra skinny, but no one says maybe he isn't eating enough. I realise that anorexia is more common in females, but not every thin woman is suffering from it.

Skinny men are apparently ok, sometimes even considered more attractive and sexy for being that way, but women are not allowed to be naturally thin, it must surely be the result of extreme dieting!

Thank you for picking me up on my grammer.I have had a very long stressful day looking after my 88 year old Mum who is not well at the moment so I think that getting my grammar wrong in this instance I might be forgiven. Nearly fell asleep whilst I was writing it.

Couldn't agree more.

The minute someone with a weight problem gets called overweight, there's uproar. But it's ok to mock someone who's thin and call them anorexic and all other sorts of abuse.

The thing is, Christine has noticably lost weight. It's not like Katherine Kelly (the lady in Mr Selfridge' that another post refers to) who has always been as slender as she is now. Christine's weight has dropped recently which is fair cause for comment.

She's always looked slim. She's tall as well, and has that kind of beanpole build.

Agreed. My daughter's a size 8 though she's not skinny so people wouldn't comment but she eats normally, she's naturally
slim. Don't know who she takes after not me! Not that I'm fat mind

I've heard Christine speak about exercising before and how keen she is on it. Perhaps she's been over-doing it, can't say I'd noticed much difference though I do agree when she did strictly a few years ago she was still slim but not as noticeable in her face.

The comments made towards Christine are not always fair though, they can be downright cruel and personal.

For example :

I think if she loses much more her whole skin will collapse in on itself around her bones. It already hangs like its been draped on coat hangers. Yuk.

That is just plain nasty.

What didn't help tonight, was her very heavy make up, it was very unflattering.

Agreed, her make up was heavy and her hairdresser should be sacked

She is in FHM's top 100 Sexiest Women. Were to voters blind?

Quite so.

But the real issue with her is that she has a quite unlike-able character. She can't help her accent, which at times is difficult to understand, but she really has little charisma.

Perhaps she spent too much time in the past working with Adrian Chiles.

She has certainly picked up his dreary attitude and personality free presence. The Lord be praised that she didn't pick up on his looks - that really would be too much!

Her make up, even by stage lighting standards was too heavy - almost like a child playing at 'dressing up' in fact. Perhaps she has upset the lighting director in some way - it doesn't take much effort to light a character badly and show them, literally, in a bad light.

I disagree. Christine seems very likeable to me, you don't hear her slagging people off, she's very inoffensive.

I really don't see how she can be criticised so much, when Schofield can be a real knob at times. Yet it's CB who is the one who has supposedly 'upset the lighting director in some way'

And now she's being accused of having a dreary attitude - yet she was slagged off for having an irritating laugh.

The woman can't win.

That style of dress is not flattering to her, as it emphasizes the fact that she has no shape. She would look better in a dress with a fuller skirt. Even better, in my view, if she gained a few pounds. She probably also suffers from the comparison with her predecessor, Holly Willoughby, who has a very shapely figure.

BIB seems a little patronizing. Why should she 'help' her accent? It's not difficult to understand at all.

Isn't she losing weight for her wedding to Frank Lampard, this year ?

Actually, her accent is at times very difficult to understand. Not her fault but that is the basic fact.

Rather like some well known football managers whose pronouncements after every game are often even more incomprehensible.
