I don't particularly like her but I have never found her accent difficult to understand.

Unlike CB, certain football managers (and I mean native English speakers) have a very poor grasp of the English language.

I understand Christine's lovely soft Irish accent perfectly. I wasn't keen on her at first but I have now warmed to her and find her very likeable. She comes across very competent and sophisticated when presenting Dancing on Ice.

I appreciate that, but depending upon ones own local accent and dialect, to some extent, other accents can be quite difficult. Northern Irish accents are generally harsher than the pleasant softer accents from those born further south on the Emerald Isle.

With regard to your comments regarding football managers, I always thought that the inability to communicative in plain English was an essential prerequisite for the job.

Of course she is not too thin, she looks pretty normal. It is a pity that we see fat as "normal".

She has managed to get through nearly a whole series without looking slutty and for the most part looking classy. She hasn' t gone down the road of wearing revealing outfits to get attention and focuses the attention on others when interviewing. In the long term, this will stand to her. Some may not like her, but she isn't trying hard to make you like her.

Christine is thin - whether or not that is 'too thin' is open to debate - but it's a bit of a leap to assume that if some people think CB is too thin, that means that society sees fat as 'normal'. There are lots of people who are not as thin as CB but who are not fat.

Well, I won't argue with you about southern Irish accents, since they are, to my ear, the most attractive accents ever. However, I think it's just that some people don't bother to make the effort to understand other people's accents and really, it doesn't take that much effort, unless it's a particularly broad accent, which CB's isn't.

Re football managers, I would have thought the opposite was true, but the sad reality is that many of them are barely literate.

I definitely think the dress is a big factor, I thought she looked awful last week but she didn't look as thin this week.

She looked great tonight, I hated her hair and make up last week, didn't suit her at all.

She's never eaten much. When she was on The One Show, she never ate any of the food being offered, whereas Alex Jones who's on now, always eats whatever is available, so she's slim but healthy looking, unlike Christine who is too thin and getting thinner.

Seriously sick comment.

Oh, and her and Frank are still together.

So someone eats a mouthful of what is presented to them on the one show and that proves that they are eating better than someone else. Great logic there. People are all kinds of shapes and sizes so you can't compare their figures just because they have similar features. I thought Christine looked well last night. The outfit suited her.

Such as a punch in the mouth?

Drop the innuendo and concentrate on your favourite octogenarian.

Having read this thread last week and not paid that much attention to Christine's figure I found myself paying more attention last night. She is slim but she doesn't look malnourished. Her arms actually looked perfectly toned like she's worked hard in the gym for them and for once I liked her outfit. Her makeup wasn't as harsh either.
Her accent is actually quite a soft one too, where she's from their accents generally are. Although having said that I'm used to hearing that accent so to an English/Welsh/Scottish audience it might easily come across difficult to understand.

I find her quite refreshing from the 'usual' wags. She smiles a lot and is always pleasant.

A WAG is someone who makes a career out of being a wife/girlfriend of a footballer.

Christine was a presenter on The One Show when her and Frank got together, she already had a career.

Elen, Frank's ex is a WAG.

The term WAGs was coined as an acronym of Wives And Girlfriends (of footballers). Some have jobs, some don't. Is Christine upper-class?

Upper class, middle class, lower class........do we still classify people in such categories or by what they have achieved in their lives?

The term "upper class" is used by certain groups as a derogatory term for those who have made something of their lives, and are thereby causing said certain groups to feel inadequate.

Indeed I wonder if the falling ratings for DOI are getting to Christine? From Daybreak to 'that dog can dance' to the National movie awards she seems to be the kiss of death for shows.
