Eastenders losing viewers?
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3...astenders.html
Source - from Digital Spy Coronation Street opened up a healthy lead over EastEnders on Friday evening (February 15). The Weatherfield soap appealed to 8.7m (38.4%) at 7.30pm as well as 269,000 on ITV +1, before 8.38m (34.6%) returned at 8.30pm and 224k on timeshift. EastEnders could only muster 7.26m (31.6%) for an episode centred around the Alfie-Kat-Roxy storyline, while BBC Three's 10.30pm repeat grabbed 489k (3%). Comparing the audiences to this day last year, Corrie has remained solid but EastEnders has shed over a million viewers |

The audience share on monday was really poor, only 30.7%.
There isn't anything gripping happening. Lots of love triangles and bed hoping. |

Im not surprised nothing remotely interesting is happening in it. Its complete GARBAGE, Boring as hell and the characters are dried up or ruined, family's are broken and theres an infestation of Brannings, infact id say the show is beyond repair

It was bound to happen, it just isn't connecting with people like it used to. Still pretty popularish but most comments I read on here, twitter etc is all moaning.

7.26 million isn't really that bad, but I agree that the show has been stuck in a rut this year.

Emmerdale,Hollyoaks were down on what they have been of late but didn't get a mention as they are NOT on BBC1 which Paul Miller (AKA BBC Slater) missed. Yes EastEnders is lower than it has been by my goodness 1 episode (Other than a clash with Emmerdale/Football) is hardly Losing Viewers. Lately EVERY main showing has been over 8million and the officials well over 9million so there's no problem at all. I wonder if EastEnders is UP on Monday will we get another thread about 'Gaining Viewers' or will there be an Article stating this? A BIG FAT FLIPPING NO |

Corrie also loses a million between episodes so sometimes but nothing ever gets said
So if EastEnders grabs 8million on Monday will you start a new thread saying 'EastEnders up on Friday and Gains viewers'..... ![]() EDIT What Rubbish Paul Miller really does speak Thursday 15th February Overnights (2012) BBC One 19:30- EastEnders: 5.64m (22.7%) ITV1 19:00- Emmerdale: 7.21m (30.3%) , +1: 351k (1.5%) * 19:00-19:30: 7.49m (32.7%) * 19:30-20:00: 6.93m (27.9%) http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...1621042&page=8 EastEnders is infact UP on last year |

What I think about the soap ratings, as most younger people watch EE, they are out most nights, so watch EE on Iplayer ect, as Corrie is watched by mostly old people, well, they don't go out at night to pubs, ect, well not all of them do
that's why Corrie seems to beat EE in the ratings most times, of course this is imo, EE is for the cool, and Corrie is for the old dears who drink tea.

No doubt Eastenders ratings will return to normal on Monday. You don't have these types of threads when another soap ratings drop. |

I'm not too interested in viewing figures but I barely watch EE now, not enjoyed it for years so have pretty much give up. If they start doing good storylines again ill be back in a shot I used to love this show

It's been losing viewers for years; its audience has pretty much halved over the last decade. Even in 2010 it was capable of getting 16.4 million viewers; that would never happen now.

Comparing the audiences to this day last year, Corrie has remained solid but EastEnders has shed over a million viewers. The link he produces is the spoilers for Fridays EastEnders and as you can see the same day last year EastEnders was lower. I have produced the figures and link for you above ![]() Sorry if I sounded rude to you. This was not my intention

As far as I am concerned year on year comparison should based con day, not the date. So friday should be compared to "the same" friday last year, not thursday. |
