And Torchwood, of course.

His wife Ann Davies also appeared in Doctor Who as Jenny in Dalek Invasion of Earth

Very sad news. I'm a huge 'Good Life' fan. It was first shown when classic Who was at its peak. I always think of Sarah Jane and the 4th Doctor when I think of Tom and Barbara Good.

Even though i was expecting it after reading an interview he did recently, it's still really saddens me. He was a real legend.
![]() Funny enough, I always tend to remember him most fondly from his role in the Branagh version of Much Ado About Nothing, such a joyful performance. |

He was very good in sitcoms and was, from what I gather, a very likeable bloke too.
Sadly, his performance in Doctor Who might be the worst performance in the whole of Classic Who - surely the worst villain. Fortunately, and probably not surprisingly, no one's showing it in tributes to him today. |

Certainly I can't think of a more misplayed role by Briers.

Very sad news. He was a fine actor. I always thought 'Ever Decreasing Circles' was brilliant, and he was great in 'Torchwood'. A lovely person too by all accounts.

To be fair, he's not completely awful before becoming 'possessed'. At least, not by the standards of the show at that time anyway. However, the less said about episode 4 the better.
Outside of Who, he was a proper ledge. Loved him in last year's Cockneys vs Zombies.
