Taylor Swift - 22
What do people think of this song? I think it's so infectious, I've had the chorus in my head all day!

OMG my eardrums, she really has a horrid voice, the song is juvenile and what this '22'.. Is she trying to copy Adele?

I love the song as a pop record but as a Taylor Swift song it just shows her moving even further away from her country roots and into a fully fledged pop star. Granted, she's been this way for quite some time but never so obviously.
I don't like it because if it has success it will probably mean that fewer and fewer slow songs will be on her next album as the only slow song she's released, Begin Again, didn't do that well whereas IKYWT and WANEGBT were commercial successes, as I expect 22 to be.... I really miss the Speak Now era which is probably one of my favorite albums of the past few years..

AYO BEYONCE, GET IN HERE. Anyway, doesn't Taylor have a song on her Fearless album called 15? About being 15 years old. Like how this song is about being 22 years old. |

22?
Is that the number of boyfriends she's had? |

So if someone titles a song with only numerical characters, they are automatically copying Adele?

In regards to musicians naming their albums after numbers, they all imitate the legendary Yes, with their album 90125

I too can see why it's the next single, the tried and trusted method of pop music now.
However I would have been much happier with State of Grace or All Too Well being released, actually State of Grace would've been the better song! |

'Red' is screaming out for a release. It's sorta country but still pop enough for commercial success.
Hard to believe this is the same girl who done songs like 'Our Song' and 'White Horse'.

I really, really hate this song. So generic with some terrible lyrics. I don't know why she'd release it over 'Red' which, IMO, is the best song on the album bar maybe All Too Well. I could imagine Red doing really well on both sides of the Atlantic.

I don't see why she's released this as I always skipped past it on the album. I'd definitely have gone State of Grace over Red though!
22 is very very generic and childish. It's almost going back to the songs like You Belong With Me and Love Story, which are still better than this one. Maybe it's something to do with being a dig at Harry... |

22 isn't a good song and could be sung by Steps!!! It's crazy but Love Story, Mean, Mine, You Belong With Me, Our Song were as much Country as they were pop. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was a good pop song BUT she needs to play her cards right here. All To Well & Red could potentially do well here but what about the duet with Ed Sheeran it's surely a massive hit in the waiting due to Ed's popularity here in the UK.
Think about the next album, if she goes back to country (Fearless, Speak Now) she's not going to be able to keep her Worldwide fan base due to them expecting the next WANEGBT or 22 |

I'm sorry but they really botched this one, didn't they? You can see what kind of pop song they were aiming for but it just comes across as amateur and crap, especially considering past hits she's had.

I like this lyric in the song: "It feels like a perfect night to dress up like Hitler and make fun of our exes"

I think dress up like Hitler sounds better
![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway this song has grown but it's still incredibly cringey like a waterd down Last Friday Night with a humour bypass and none of it's tongue in cheek fun. |

As for the song in question, I agree with whoever said it sounds immature - in fact, I'd go as far as to say that her song 'Fifteen' sounds more grown up than '22'. |
