I used to love it at Infants school when for pudding, I just got served plain custard, especially if it was the strawberry flavor, as strawberry flavor custard is my favorite type of custard!

Humorous story - had an Italian from a partner company over to do some work, a few years back. I was given shepherd duty to feed and water him, so took him to the work's canteen for lunch. Language was a problem, but he managed to get... whatever - meat and two veg or similar, then went to the gravy/custard table, and before I could stop him poured chocolate custard over his main meal. I tried, I honestly did, to stop him, but he gesticulated confidently that he knew what he was doing. I don't think, custard appreciation, or not, that he enjoyed his meal.
