OMG what a way to wake up. The day can only get better.

The song is a little too high from start to finish, maybe a bit too much falsetto right from the start, but I don't dislike it.
The video however is another story. That's all a matter of personal taste, but I prefer to listen to the song without the clip. While I am sure plenty of people will love it, I can't help but cringe.

At second listen (without the video), I like the song...

I found the video both erotic and sensual, which went well with the power of the tune. Neither Matt or the female were submissive or dominant and so personally apart from the fact they were united by the rope, I would not class it as a bondage scene. Personally I found it an artistic masterpiece and the best video I have seen for many a year. There again we all have different tastes.

The word "repulsive" comes to mind, followed by "pathetic" and "desperate."

I found this a dirge and turned it off half way through but if his fans love it then really that is all that matters

I saw this this morning and thought it was pretty bland. Turned it off half-way through (and that was after fast forwarding to see if it got any more lively). Boring. Didn't quite understand why there was a woman singing in Matt Cardle's voice? But whatever, like Twingle said, if the fans like it, that's the main thing.

The vitriol in this thread is pretty sad. I'd say it's an okay video, certainly more interesting than his usual stuff. It gives the song a bit more darkness that probably wouldn't hit me if I was just listening to it on the radio. With that said, the part with the girl miming doesn't really work and the kissing scene felt a bit forced. But it's a simple, effective enough video and I hope it signifies Matt getting a bit more interesting and creative in his presentation.

Oh, one more thing: he REALLY needs to put on some weight. In that close-up of his arm he looks almost emaciated. I hope his health is okay?

Hmmmm, visually I think it works as it's a pretty erotic video but on the other hand Matt isn't really very sexy so there's a bit of a conflict going on in my head.

I really like the song, I think it works on many levels. His falsetto is his strength so I am not really sure why he's being denigrated for it. You either like that kind of song or you don't in musical terms.

Personally I adore the baritone voice above all others but do like Matt's voice as I can see his talent lies in a different range.

I suppose in a nutshell, I think it's a good song and he sounds really good, it's just that he isn't a Chris Isaac a la Wicked Game and he can't really pull off a video along those lines.

For fans of Matt's type of sound I think this really works though and has a commercial appeal too

I think one of my problem with the video could be that Matt is acting the main part, and I don't see him that way, that's why it might make me cringe. I have a hard time dis-associating him with the image that I have of him (if that makes any sense).

I also thought that people loved his voice while he was on the X factor and am surprised that so few of them seem to like it now. I could understand better them not liking the material, anyone has a different taste in music. But his voice is what made him win the X factor by a landslide... and he had some tough competition from Rebecca in the voice department.

As to the song: I like the falsetto just fine, I just fellt that maybe he could have started the song a bit lower to give the song more of a crescendo effect.

Love matt on the show but hate the song it reminds me of a song from the 80/90s cant remember the name.

It's always reminded me a bit of John Farneham's You're The Voice.

This will fail. It will fail because - bottom line - it is good old fashioned, honest-to-goodness no-nonsense bat shit. In fact, if there was ever one positive thing to be said about Cardle it is that no contemporary act can consistently produce shit music like he can. And make no mistake, that takes talent of sorts: 'shit on demand'! Problem is, shit music is very much an acquired taste. It is a small, niche market and Matt is desperate to be a big, bouncy, billboard-hogging, mega-famous, global pop star. Now there's the dilemma folks! Matt is a tortured soul. Why? Because he is brilliant at something he doesn't want to be brilliant at! He's the wrong sort of successful.

For somebody who never has a good word to say about Matt you seem to spend a considerable amount of time focused on his career. I could understand it if you were trying to be funny, but if that is the case then I guess your humour deserves a vacation.

I love it! Great vocals,version of the song and its hot but with a darkness to it. Best yet by far.

To be honest if he is trying to lure the 50 shades of grey crowd this video just doesn't cut it. I like a hot shirtless man in videos as much as the next man but this doesn't give me erotic or sensual and more like try hard.

And I think it is a bit over egging the pudding to call this video an "artistic masterpiece". It is frankly an insult to true masterpieces artistic or otherwise.

Now I don't want to upset any fragile fans out there so p[lease go back to enjoying it but it just isn't for me.

Just because people don't like ot "luuuuuuuurve, squeeeeee" it does not make them trolls. Why is that always the defense from some people when people disagree with them honestly.
