I make this http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2...sy-white-bread every Sunday for my husband sandwiches for work. It's so easy (especially if you let the kitchen aid do all the work) and it turns out great every time.

You were talking about supermaket bread, one would assume that you meant supermarket bakerys?
Why not just clarify what you meant? Supermarket bakerys also do sliced bread. Warburtons sliced bread isn't frozen either, so what were you actually talking about? |

From mixes? Or properly? Do you know which ones actually bake from fresh (NOT mixes)?

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would work it out for themselves DOOOH!!!!
You said, "Supermarket bread is crap, firstly its been frozen" When I pulled you up on the fact that my local supermarket does not freeze it's bread, you then said this, "Talking about sliced bread," As there is two parts to supermarket bread, brought in from different companys like Kingsmill and the rest and their actual own bakery, it would help to clarify what you actually meant as my local supermarket does sliced bread on both the bakery and brought in side, both of which has sliced bread that hasn't been frozen. So, my local supermarket doesn't freeze it's bread, sliced or not sliced. |

Flour, water, yeast and tin/bap/bloomer improver. From scratch. It depends on the store, some get the frozen stuff in while others will do the baps, white/wholemeal/granary tin, bloomers and stick fresh from scratch.
![]() So basically it doesn't just vary from supermarket to supermarket (eg Tesco/Sainsbury's) but from local store to local store? I really feel they should be a lot more transparent about this, so that the customer knows exactly what they are getting. |

Try Cranks bread. They allow the yeast to ferment before baking unlike rubbish supermarket bread which is not fermented properly hence that bloated feeling after eating it.

Allinsons is my favourite brand of Bread at the moment, both the White/Wholemeal Loafs, Iceland do a small Allinsons Wholemeal loaf for like 80p, such good value, and tasty bread too, I'll be getting a couple of loafs tomorrow..
