Wonder if people will actually prefer it to Let's Dance.

Quite shocking to see The Dumping Ground being beaten. Also, that figure for Madagascar is a pretty large figure for 8am for CBBC anyway.

Didn't Tracy Beaker Returns get around double that figure? I guess I'm not the only one who decided to not tune into TDG.

A few episodes in the third series of Tracy Beaker Returns hit 800k, but the first series launched with 800k and settled around 400-500k (same with TDG). Why did you decide not to tune in?

I'm surprised not more films aren't show on CBBC, I reckon the Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks film would do brilliantly in weekend afternoon slots,

I was going to start watching TDG, but then just couldn't find the time, and realised that it didn't bother me. Where as, I watched TBR because I really loved the show, and loved TB.

I've been reading about TDG though, and I'm glad to hear Electra's character is still there, she was always my favorite!

Next Sunday will be interesting as they have their fast turnaround doc on the meteor strike at 8pm but BBC2 have theirs just an hour later at 9pm. Can't see both getting watched and although C4's airs first, the BBC2 one will enjoy a lead-in of around 5 million from a very compatible show in Top Gear.

Great to see Andrew Laughlin back doing Digital Spy's ratings reports by the way. I do hope this is permanent and we no longer have to suffer pro-ITV bias. Lines line "affection for Lewis continued" and "Perhaps poignantly, Lewis won the 9pm slot" could become a thing of the past.

I'm guessing C4 wouldn't have put theirs on against Top Gear if BBC2 weren't showing theirs at 9pm. But I think C4 could have found a better slot - 7pm say or Saturday at 9pm.


Meanwhile, off-thread, I just have to say how much I love the new ITV logo seen at the end of all the ITV Studios programmes. It looks and sounds like something they would have made 42 years ago to celebrate the arrival of colour TV.

Lots of love for Robson Green's Extreme Fishing on Twitter. I thought the target audience would be watching West Ham v Spurs.

It'd be lovely to see a nice big overnight for this in the morning. Robson managing to make fishing entertaining to watch is some feat. He's a very underrated TV talent.

Excellent rating. A lot of CBBC numbers get discussed in here and this is the first one to have seriously impressed me so far.

It's oddly addictive. It's rare to see so many positive comments about a C5 show and hardly any negatives except from those who have never watched it and mock the concept. The viewers have a lot of love for this one.

Extreme Railways could come back. The numbers were very good I thought. At the very least they should work with Chris Tarrant on some more projects along those lines as I thought he suited that kind of show well.

Talking of bizarre hits, any thoughts on how The Wedding Shop will do on Thursday for ITV. From the ad it just looks like the usual cheap ITV filler which will be lucky to scrape 2m, but then again it could follow in the footsteps of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and get a decent rating which nobody is able to explain.


Also looking ahead a bit further and Comic Relief will again be scheduled for 7.00-10.30pm this year with the news bumped to 10.30pm. They did that last time but then ended up moving the news back to 10pm due to the news of the day (Japanese Tsunami). At least though at the moment they're not squeezing in a pointless edition of The One Show beforehand as they've been doing with Children in Need lately.
