Might get to 11m for last week's ep, or at least close.

I think that might be more to do wth DOI consistently staying around 6.6m (better than ASFF got against CTM)

Lowest ever final then for Dancing on Ice - 6.70m excluding +1. Or...

ITV Ratings: The Dancing on Ice final peaked with 7.5m, averaging 6.9m across the 2 hour show. Mr Selfridge was up 300k on last wk with 5.8m

Tbf logic and reasoning would wreck that theory

Hardly until this week most eps with MH had 9m+ and without had around 8.6m, i'm not saying it was totally accurate but followed an interesting pattern.

I can't believe Whovians still think the BBC don't care about Doctor Who. What other dramas on TV get thirteen episodes a year every year. None. It used to be on thirteen weeks a year because every drama used to be like that. There were no episodes of Doc Martin last year. Do ITV now care about that? No, it's because the cast and crew have other commitments and don't want to flog it to death, Do I want 26 mediocre Who episodes for the sake of it? No, I want as many high quality episodes as they think they can produce without them being dashed off in five minutes, Quality, not quantity!.[/QUOTE]

Should point out there were just 6 eps of DW last year and likely to be 10 this.

Tonight's ratings battle between Broadchurch and Shetland should be interesting...........

Indeed. And in the last five years BBC1 has aired more new episodes of Merlin (65) than of Doctor Who (52). Of course DW is still going, while Merlin is not, but the idea that DW has been aired of late far more frequently than any other non-soap drama is not true.

Football and DOI look low/very low.

Excellent start for Shetland. But I expect Broadchurch will win tonight, there seems to be more hype around this one.

No surprises that the Blackburn Millwall replay is on ESPN, with ITV doubtless having picked Chelsea vs Manchester United.
When the Chelsea game will be played will probably become clearer after Thursday night's Europa League game (they're 1-0 down), which will tell us when Chelsea have some spare dates.

I assume the peak was in the last half hour, once Spurs v Liverpool had finished on Sky?

In the mid 90s before Uncovered came along, Sky One had original programming on the channel including Blockbusters, Games World and Spellbound, although none were the important part of the schedule.

I loved the latter, it was one of the first UK interactive gameshows.

When Elisabeth Murdoch became a Sky boss, she started the push on original programming such as Uncovered nonsense, shame they axed Spellbound.

Wait a second, Newsnight being delayed for Comic Relief rubbish is unacceptable. If the news isn't on at BBC2 at 22:30 I will pop back over to BBC4.

considering Newsnight is meant to have been axed, its not a massive shock.

Great score for Shetland for what was a very slow moving and drab hour imo-cant imagine the Shetland Tourist Board will exactly be jumping up and down with glee at the way it came across.
Slightly concerning about the FA Cup, a simply fantastic game of football end to end with two huge teams and the rating is a bit lacklustre imo.
Not sure what to make of DOI, its coming back because PS says it is. Not sure what they can do to revitalise it as they did that this year.Still its outrating Ant and Dec who are being heaped with praise so maybe there is no crisis.
Great score for Countryfile which is also beating Ant and Dec and many others which still has the effect of raising my eyebrows. And CTM signing off with a very respectable figure-interesting to see if it adds anything extra than normal on consolidated as it was the last one.
Big big day yesterday for a range of programming.

Channel 4 Sales reports a 1.72m average (inc +1) for the full programme (17:30-20:00). Great rating: should be a nice peak in the last half-hour.

EDIT: it had a 53% skew to ABC1 Adults.

EDIT2: DS reports an average of 1.64m (7.2%) exc +1.
