Broadchurch was held up pretty well against strong competition on BBC1 on both nights. I wonder how it would have fared if scheduled against one ob BBC1's more filler schedules?

Indeed his last BBC 4 drama didn't exactly set the world alight in comparison to previous Uk dramas on the channel.

As well as 2 page newspaper ads.

The Cheltenham Festival is ON but because of the frost racing has been delayed by 35 minutes to allow temperatures to rise.
So although Channel 4 Racing comes on the air at 12.35pm, the first race isn't until 2.05pm.
In a step in the right direction, DOND has been shortened this week to 50 minutes. (4.20pm to 5.10pm).

Not the first year. It was 45m last year.

Channel 4 have just cancelled Deal Or No Deal to show further racing from Cheltenham this afternoon due to the racing delays.

Broadchurch doing OK but considering the hype and promotion, I wouldn't saying it's doing brilliantly, especially given Lewis was rating as well if not better.

Broadchurch is holding up very well against decent drama competition. Not interested in watching it myself though.

Great rating for the Oscar Pistorius documentary. BBC3 was ahead of C5 between 9 - 10pm.

“'It has a long way to go': Lorraine Kelly opens up about Daybreak's falling ratings as she admits that they're trying to 'turn it around' 'We're getting there but it won't change over night. It'll be a year before we can fully turn it around,' the presenter added, staying positive about the future.
'My 8.30am show is up year-on-year, and from 7.30 onwards, it's better than it's ever been,' said the much-loved star.”

Let's see how ratings are in March 2014 - if it is still on the air of course.

You'd expect that to go well though wouldn't you. It was even more popular than Shetland with young adults aged 16-34 (375k/8.5% v 349k/7.9%).

Still a series high for Robson. Not disgraced by any means. And BBC3 is back to 'Snog Marry Avoid' and other lousy programmes next Monday.

Lewis didn't have drama competition though, and certainly not crime drama competition like Broadchurch has had. I think 6.4m for episode 2 against a 5m crime drama on BBC1 is very good going, especially as it only dropped 0.4m from episode 1 from episode 2, whereas most new dramas drop quite a bit more than that.

Wasn't a criticism of C5, merely an observation.

BBC3 is usually crap, so when it does anything of merit it should be encouraged.

Sorry I missed that. What has BBC3 done that is worthy of merit? A shock doc on a high profile crime?

It wasn't a shock-doc at all. In fact the approach was quite sober.

So, obviously you did miss it....watching Love In The Wild or Jeremy Kyle USA on ITV2, presumably.

Read some pre screening press stuff where his friends were saying he was close to suicide because he was having to sell some of his possessions. If that was their promo line, I'm sure it was a sober as you average member of the house of lords

Still nothing in it I'd imagine that was in any way distinctive or worthy of public service remit, but hey ho, it impressed you.

So, you admit you didn't watch it, but still feel qualified to slag it off.

Hey ho, as you say.
