Dogs have amazing memories and recollection - I have learned this over the last 20 years of having them. My latest girl Asha only has to go to a place or past a place once and remembers it. From the first time she could walk and went to the vets, she always stops at the door go in. We walk past a house where only twice their dog was at the gate, every time she slows down and stops expecting to greet him. She remembers where things are left and people she has only met once - I know a lot of that is smell. Nevertheless, she does some things that are purely from memory - really bright
