NOW TV app updated on YouView
RGO
20-02-2013
We've just updated the NOW TV app for YouView.

You can get the latest version via the Settings > Device Management > Update On Demand Players

Or it should update over night if your box is left turned on (stand-by mode).

Includes the following changes:

* Improved video playout performance.
* Due to support new concurrency. Using 4 device limit, 2 concurrent streams and first in last out.
* Search updated to use predictive results, users no longer have to type in the whole word to see results.
* Bookmark progress to show MINS on the movie details page.
* Bookmark updates when exiting app during playout.
* YouView box Parental Guidance settings on My Account page.
* Password stars out as it's typed, except for last character.
* Show long synopsis on movies details page if space available.
* UI highlight colour change to new darker blue.

Not much help if there are inquisitive kids in the room, or peering round the door!

Now all they need to do is make it HD and I'd consider subscribing.

It now looks like more pay TV options are coming to Youview in the form of sports and entertainment offerings:

YouView will revamp its programme guide this summer to make room for broadband TV channels, starting with BT Sport and TalkTalk’s pay-TV channels.

YouView to add pay TV channels to EPG. YouView is planning to beef up its EPG to include linear streamed pay-TV channels such as the Disney Channel, Sky Sports and UKTV.

Yup, I think these have been advised previously. The date for the IPTV channels to appear in the EPG has previously been a bit vague but was always due before BT's channels launched. Good to have firm confirmation of July date.
