Ameila Lilly - Party Over - New Single - Be A Fighter
https://soundcloud.com/amelialilyoffic/party-over
From that 20 second clip it sounds very summery! I like it! It also sounds the double of DJ Fresh's Good Feeling! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bBTIWZxkuI |

Why electro when she said she was a rock chick ? It's just like Melanie Amaro all over again. I don't recognize her style here. I'm sorry but it is going to bomb for sure.

Another single already?
I really like Amelia but I'm so sick of all the electropop stuff she's released. I don't even mind a boring ballad from her, just stop with all the dance songs already. |

Don't understand this! What is she doing? I want to see the Amelia that was on the XF again doing all this beautiful songs with her rock style! Cannot believe this! I suppose she doesn't have room to negotiate being a new artist. PLEASE AMELIA GO BACK TO WHAT YOU ONCE WERE.

Especially when she said her reference was Kelly Clarkson. Kelly Clarkson : 11 years of pop/rock and still at the top.

I really like it!
I don't really mind if she's releasing 'generic' electro-pop anymore to be honest, I've recently stopped seeing generic as a bad thing. As long as the music's infectious I will love it

Yes but musical identity is of paramount importance. She's losing it like Melanie Amaro has lost it.

What do people expect she's working with Xenomania who produce this type of sound. I think it sounds massive! Can't wait to here the full version.

. I think it works because she's a new artist she's still trying to find who she is in terms of being an artist and what sound suits her.

She said her reference was Kelly Clarkson. She has been a rock chick during X factor. I think she knows who she is.

She sang Show must go on, Piece of my heart, I'm with you and Since You been gone which are at least pop/rock. Plus, she has this raspy voice which suits pop/rock singers really well. Electro doesn't showcase her voice at all.

Supporting Girls Aloud wont do her any harm at all. Be interesting to see how the rest of 2013 pans out for the class of 2011 in Amelia, Little Mix and Misha B, although I do think Misha B might be a casualty and fall off the mainstream scene by the end of this year.

However, it's a whole different story for Amelia and Mish. I just want them to do what they did on the XF. It's what made me love them in the first place, but they're not doing that... |

Amelia doing the electro thing is actually a wise move at the moment.
Yes, she is a "rock chick" but ROCK music isn't trendy right now. When it becomes trendy again we will hear the best from Amelia, and "Party Over" sounds really good, am looking forward to the whole song now

No no no, Vash. First, it is not about trend, it is about being yourself, having an identity. Then, there is no such thing as rock is not trendy. Pop/rock has never stopped to be popular in any way shape or form. From the beatles to today's music.
Again same example : Kelly Clarkson, 11 years of pop/rock, still at the top. She never asked herself, is it trendy ? No it is just good pop rock. Plus, I would say guitar is trendy, especially with the wave of acoustic music on youtube and on radios. And Amelia is really good with acoustic guitars. I'm thinking about Shut Up acoustic which is really nice. |

And it IS all about trends. Rock music in the UK is nowhere near as popular/trendy as it was between 2004-2008. At the moment, Dance/Pop is the current trend. Kelly Clarkson may be a pop/rock goddess but her last album "Stronger" was danced-up a bit. |

Danced up ? You mean uptempo ? Kelly is not doing electro or dance.
If you want it to be about trends then be it : Mumford and sons, Lawson, Ben Howard, Fun, etc... and all those girls from the acoustic scene on youtube or elsewhere do pop/rock. |

Being "a rock chick" is not a style nor a proof of authenticity.

Mumford and Sons are one of the VERY few "rock" acts. I think they are boring. They are only popular because of their counter-demographic market (People who don't listen to generic pop music) Lawson aren't really rock, they are just a boyband that play instruments. A Pop band. Fun are just a one-hit wonder Power-Pop band. Ben Howard is becoming popular for the same reason Mumford and Sons became popular. |
