I've just realised that at long last "Press Red" is timing itself out. How long has it been so? It's taken years for this to happen. It seems that the BBC has at last listened to its viewers!

You could always press the green button to make it go away - or on Sky boxes an option was added years ago to make it go after 30 seconds (On-screen icon time-out ON/OFF - although default is OFF).

Depends on the TV or PVR as to whether it times out and how long it takes. Whether by design or by bug I know not.

I noticed this around 6 weeks ago, I'm surprised it had not been posted sooner

Just put BBC News on and waited and ... you're right! I'm surprised I hadn't noticed before, but I'd got into the habit of pressing Green anyway.

I hadn't noticed either - I'm mostly watching the BBC's HD channels so don't see it very often.

Finally back to 2002 functionality!
