Wireless Repeaters & YouView
Are wireless repeaters any good?
Are Freeview YouView boxes compatible? I'm trying to avoid running cables around the room. |

Define wireless repeaters? Do you mean a device that receives the WiFi signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it or HomePlug/PowerLine type devices that plug into the mains to carry the signals to and from the router?
Either way they use bog standard networking protocols. So if any device you propose to attach uses the same bog standard protocols then they will be compatible. Freeview YouView boxes use wired ethernet usually (can't think of any using WiFi) so a HomePlug may be the easier option than WiFi. And you can get HomePlug units with a built in network switch for the remote end so you could plug up to four devices in at the same time to share the connection. Handy if you've got a Smart TV or other devices that can connect to the internet or stream media files. |

...I have seen these on eBay...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300Mbps-Wi...item43b7035c9d It looks like you then connect to set top box via wire. What do you think? |

For video streaming, you want a fast stable connection. HomePlugs are a much better option. |
