One Direction must know they're terrible - Jake Bugg
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...ampaign=twdsuk
I post this cos iv'e often wondered about that myself. Do you think they actually do know this or do you think they don't or if we don't think of them as a single entity but as 5 people, does one of them think it or maybe two, there must be at least one i'd guess...if so who?

Jake Bugg is such an idiot, though. Does he realise he's nothing more than a lame sub-Oasis rip-off with bad hair and even worse lyrics ("Skin up a fat one / hide from the feds", indeed!)
As for 1D, I honestly doubt they care. They're probably too busy shagging waitresses, driving fancy cars and getting into embarrasing twitter arguments with Boy George and/or the Empire State Building to pay much attention to the songs handed to them. |

They fill a need for the tweenies. They are very good at what they do.
However I doubt they would listen to or buy the music they make. I think once the novelty of success goes then they will get bored and either split whilst they're still at the top or try and become a more contemporary, relevant and cool pop band. |

I think this singer is making himself look bad, and that's all he is achieving.
I don't think that they are bad, but to each their own. But where does the rockstar thing come from? They don't think themselves that they are rockstars IMHO... |

that doesn't really answer the question, but you seem to be suggesting that yes they do think they're terrible but they don't care cos the money's good. Have i interpreted you correctly?

Your opinion is that their music is terrible, along with Mr Bugg, but that's still an opinion, not a fact. |

Well, I don't dislike 1D but I surely HATE that Jake Bugg. He thinks he's more talented than all the XF people

But your question is flawed, isn't it?
Your opinion is that their music is terrible, along with Mr Bugg, but that's still an opinion, not a fact. I was questioning whether it's likely that 5 boys in a band who are handed songs to sing are all likely to think this is good, or if at least 1 or 2 or even all 5 might think it's terrible. I didn't ask whether they cared or if they were too busy hobnobbing with Boy George, or anything else

It obviously works for them. There might be a couple of members, however, that would like more musical input or a would prefer a 'cooler' sound (more in line with the type of music they like listening to) but they're probably of the opinion that the formula works for them, and they're not going to take for granted the amount of money they get from singing what could be argued are generic pop songs. |

It's pop, I don't think that all of them were into pop at first, so maybe at some point in the future, some would like to branch out into something else. And I am sure that they like some of the songs on their albums better than others too. I hope that no song that any of them disliked ended up on the album, but how would I know? |

. The album is fairly removed from Oasis tbh - in fact there is a whole folky/ country vibe to alot of the songs. And I'm sorry any band who has the line 'chinny chin chin' as part of their lyrics are gonna come off worse in a song lyrics crapbattle |

Oh young Jake. Did he finally learn how to speak? Reaping off Bob Dylan and the Gallaghers must be the way forward.
Soon to be forgotten, Tom Odell is getting all the love now.

To answer that question you need to be aware of each of the 1D band members motivation for being in the group, what motivates them performing the music they do - is it to make good music/are they only motivated by money/do they want to create a musical legacy or just make a quick million and exit.
As such, I would have thought that Jake Bugg or anyone else could reasonably comment on whether 1D think their terrible? I think that their music is boring and shallow and their stage act I have seen many times before, but sadly there are a few others on this planet that don't. |

All these people who moan about 1D to the press or try and start twitter spats with them mostly just come across as attention seekers. They know it'll get into the news and that there's people there to be enraged and talk about it.
As for whether they know/think they are terrible, I doubt it and they have an abundance of evidence to think the opposite. |
