We won't see much of Henry until the later episodes
What makes you say that?

And awkward scenes, naturally, ahoy between Emma and Snow - at least, had they not have sent her away [The Saviour thing excluded], their child would have had no real memories to forget and they'd have been together [under fake guises, but together all the same].

It certainly would be alot to take on board.
Well, I can understand why Emma is still upset at having been sent away. But if they hadn't sent her away she'd have been a permanent baby (because no-one in Storybrook was ageing under the curse), so it's not as if she'd have got to grow up with a nice life and happy family. Also there're no guarantees they would have been together as a family. Snow and Charming weren't.

And so one part of the fairytale world remains, how [love broke the curse, did some kind of true love here wall against it]?
Perhaps it's because they were already under a curse? So Regina's curse couldn't properly affect them?

We won't see much of Henry until the later episodes
Good. I can't stand his character/the child who plays him. I find him very irritating.

I'm glad to hear that the guy at the beginning is a mystery person as I thought he must be someone I had forgotten from season 1. Was glad when Belle came back to Mr Gold.

Ive been watching at US pace but still watched last nights episode.

Good opener, won't give any spoilers as to who the man at the beginning was or who Dr Whale is but you will find out the answers to both soon.

Last sentence I'll give you - but if they had all been together, then they'd have been a happy [oblivious] family.

I almost forgot about the whole ageing thing - I wonder when Henry first noticed he was the only kid in town ageing [before or after Mary / Snow gave him the book]?

That's a good point. Regina was obviously very wary of Maleficent [her being sealed well under Storybrooke and all]. If she were still alive and Regina found out that the above hypothesis is true, boy would she be pissed!

Yeah, I liked him less and less as last season went on. But then, doing nothing but scream 'I'll make you a believer' was really repetitive and tedious [and if his lack of screen-time this season is true, then well, the writers obviously don't have much else in mind for him now].

Wait. That white dove delivered a Storybrooke postcard [I wonder if there's a big pile of those somewhere on the isl... town outskirts? ] to Mystery Man with the words [the episode title no less] Broken. Almost as though both parties [the one who sent it, the Mystery Man] knew of the Curse...

Yes that is why my 'Henry's father' theory went out the window when I saw that. I mean it would still be possible for him to be Henry's dad but I don't know why he'd have any knowledge of Storybrooke.

As for who sent it, maybe Rumple? Just guessing though.

All in all a great return and I can't wait for next week
Really like Mulan
Looking forward to seeing what happens in fairyland as well.

I wrote a blog on the first episode and I would be very grateful if you checked it out

Correction: unless J.K. Rowling traveled back in time, the wraith is *not* a ripoff from Harry Potter.

I don't know. I can't see him with a Dove [and I think the fact it is a Dove is significant somehow]. I can't fathom as to where it plays a role in any fairytales, though...

And as we know from the ending, the whole episode was running parallel in real-time between the two worlds - could Rumple have had any time to send it off amongst everything that was going on?

Alas, time will tell on it all.

I look forward to seeing if anyone makes a hasty escape from Storybrooke now [since they can now leave]. I mean, unless Red can still transform, the townsfolk are now rather outmatched against Regina and or Gold's magic's...

It was a wraith, which have generally been pictured looking along those lines way longer then Harry Potter has been around, but if you want to know where Harry Potter's writer got the dementors from, then you have your answer

Tales of them have been around for centuries - the term wraith originates in Scotland IIRC, but similar entities pop up all over the place in various different countries mythologies.

Dr Whale was around most of the 1st season whenever the hospital was needed

still watching at US pace, but dipping into the UK transmission, and I am shocked and appalled at how much the next time trailers give away (trailers which shouldn't be there in the first place...)

I like next time trailers. I've never found them to be particularly spoilery. Why do you say that they shouldn't be there in the first place? Are they not on the US broadcast?

He also had a one night stand with Mary Margaret.
I'd forgotten that!

Too much David and Henry, not enough Emma and Snow for my liking in that episode!

Enjoyed the Regina/Rumple backstory too
