Had to send my 46" Sammy in for repair at Currys twice in the past 4 months. The set's just over two years old but they said it has a manufacturing fault and would repair. Sadly, they stil haven't fixed the problem (screen and sound going off for a second every couple of hours or so) but they didn't offer a temporary set, and nor did I expect them to. As Nigel and others have said, it's the norm these days for only smaller retailers to offer such a service.

Not every channel/programme has AD and you're assuming they also have external speakers to hook up to their box.

How, if the telly's bust?

S'easy if the STB remote has an AD button (and mine does!) with a line in to a radio or hi-fi.
