I have just had a 3 piece meal from KFC. Got home and saw 2 of the pieces were wings! I usually have 3 piece meal and never had wings before but not had KFC in months so wondering if they now maybe include them? Don't want to complain if standard practice now?

Surely you mean the thighs, as opposed to wings which are tiny?

I think I've had this meal and it was a 1 chicken leg, 1 thigh, 1 breast (thick dry, so I assume it was breast) piece

Probably too late now, how would you prove it.

Next time look though because if it was wings (as said above are tiny) then it's a rip off.

I had a bucket meal from there a couple of weeks ago and I think 3-4 out of the 10 pieces were wings. Not hot wing size, it has the 2 meaty joints, a bit of breast meat and the pointless wing tip bit. Its not the worst cut IMO, the cut which is mainly backbone is the worst.

I'm sure, as stated already, that the OP means thighs rather than wings.

I'm also sure that when I was in the US and visited a Popeyes Chicken, that you could select the type of chicken you wanted and it was priced accordingly.

As such a 3 piece breast meal would be more expensive than a 3 piece thigh meal. You could also combine, so for example a 1 breast, 2 thigh meal would probably cost somewhere in between the first two examples.

In fairness though, it does seem a bit much and makes the menu and ordering process a lot more complex (more questions at the order point, more time wasted etc)

Why would the op mean thighs? KFC have been putting wings in their original recipe meals for years, they look like this: http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/p...t_2011/kfc.jpg

I wouldn't be happy if I received more than one in a three piece meal but they are still better than the horrid keel and breast pieces which are both usually really dry.

Thighs are the best, followed by drumsticks then the wings IMO.

I don't think so, http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkin...d/DSCF0108.JPG

This is a thigh and this is what you get in a 3 piece. Usually 2 of these and one drumstick.

I class it as good if I get 2 of them (as said, my favourite) but I quite often get wings, breast and keels in them too.

The rib bit, KFC call it a keel. Like the top middle piece on here: http://blog-imgs-45-origin.fc2.com/y.../img42_kfc.jpg

On there you have drumstick on the left, keel top middle, breast top right. Wing bottom middle, thigh bottom right.

Still no luck, but I think I found the same image by searching 'kfc keel' into Google Images.

On reflection, I think I would usually be given 2 keels and a drumstick. I still don't think I have ever been given the wing from that image.

You can buy a bucket now and not get a single breast, KFC have gone downhill, and that's happened despite increased competition.

I would like to go to KFC once, just once and them get the order right. Don't think it's ever happened yet.

Well clearly as there is almost 800 in the UK, some people must still be using them.

Is it true that they cannot call themselves Kentucky Fried Chicken any more and have to use KFC instead due to the fact that there is not much (if any) chicken in the meals?

No that isn't true at all. They rebranded due to the negative connotations of the word 'fried'.

Interesting, thanks for that.

At least it wasn't for the ridiculous reason given above.

How can a chicken drumstick have no chicken in?
