Oh, me too. Why on earth would the Doctor announce his love of Fonzie? It has no bearing on the birth whatsoever.

Nah he was jealous of Mark from the get go and even still after he left the company.
The way he slammed down the phone repeatedly on Rachel on her first day? Not the actions of a normal person. Rachel was a jealous person in a different way he behaviour towards Julie was disgraceful, and Bonnie too. She seemed to have a thing about hair. Im surprised she didn't offer poor Emily a hair cut on her wedding day but she went on her honeymoon instead so that makes up for it. Still can't get my head aroundthat one |

I can't remember the name of the episode but the one where phoebe goes to her dad's house with joey and rachel, where she ultimately runs over the dog. When Rachel throws joey's sandwich out the window and the then turn back round the dog is hanging over the window barking into the car, you can see the head of a person crouching down next to the car, presumably whoever put the dog on the window! Find it funny as it's not even because of the new hd episodes it's always been visible.

The earlier seasons are definitely the best. I think they could have ended the series around season 8, rather than doing all the boring compilation episodes and dull story lines in the last 2.

Aw, you gotta love Friends, I do feel bad finding any gripes TBH because it has brought me so much happiness over the years! I know it's silly to feel that way about a TV show, but it got me through some tough times in my younger days!

Sounds more like your dream of living in New York, the reality is (although they had a ridiculously lavish apartment) they are just like everyone else, working, living in one area and trying to get through life. Get married, have kids etc. Wouldn't be able to afford painting the town red all the time.
You expect people to be living it up but it's really just home to them. Although it reminds me of the episode where they take their surrogate sight-seeing and Chandler acts like he's never seen all the landmarks in New York. ![]() And I've been to NY, it's not as... "glamorous" as it looks. People are probably aware of this but it was filmed in LA, so that's probably the reason for the lack of New York locations. |

Just watching the one where Phoebe gives birth to the triplets and I hate the rubbish with the Fonzie obsessed Doctor, it's not just stupid but really, really stupid  it's just the way he comes in say some pregnancy related stuff then says "also I love Fonzie" at the end. If it had been more subtle with things like "as Fonzie would say..." or some Fonzie anecdotes it wouldn't be so bad.
Creepy ass doctor! |

But that's irrelevant to our discussion, which is why "in-story" the characters had regular haunts. Which was very realistic. |

Joining this thread late, but there are a few that always bug me.
1) When Chandler and Rachel met. First episode appears to be the first time they meet, then in flashbacks they met as teenagers, then they first kissed in a nightclub, but then it turns out they kissed at a collage party in the 80s. 2) The episode where Chandler can't cry. Yet later we see him cry at the 80s collage party. 3) There is an episode in which they have a newly filmed 'flashback'. In it you can see hanging in Monica's apartment the picture with the woman coming out that Phoebe gave Monica in a previous episode. Yet the flashback is set before the episode in which Phoebe give Monica the picture

I guess what LOSG said further up on the thread - just something random that you wouldn't expect from a "doctor type" and something with no real connection to the birth other than a comedic distraction.
they could have had Chandler say few of his jokes! |

Late to the thread too, and don't know if it's a gripe as such, but Carol's wife Susan wasn't mentioned much or seen, to my knowledge (and recollection) during the last few series.
Obviously the actress (Jessica Hecht) left the show, but I always thought that it strange that her character was seemingly wiped out. Especially when the Carol-Susan-Ross storyline was so prevalent in the series. |

The way Ben was just forgotten about annoyed me. They even kinda made fun of it themselves when Jack saw Emma and said "my first grandchild" and Ross had to remind him about Ben!
Not even mentioning him in the episode where it's Emma's birthday too was sad poor fictional little boy, pushed out of his Daddy's life. Although Ross is such a crap dad he probably wouldn't notice. It's funny the way Janice warned Rachel about Ross starting his "real" family and forgetting about her and Emma, that's what he did to Ben. |

After nine years, and looking at the general quality of the show, I think I am over any issues.

I remember rachel even saying at one point 'how serious are you about keeping ben in your life' Apparently ross took this seriously.

This isn't a gripe as such, but even though the later seasons weren't as strong, there were some pretty good, and dare I say it, clever, lines that were thrown in that get lost among the mediocrity. For instance, in The One In Barbados (one of my least favourites), when Monica (whose hair has clearly been affected by the humidity at this point) walks over to Rachel and Phoebe to discuss something important, Phoebe says "I'm sorry, are you leaving the Supremes?" I don't know, that to me was excellent.

Erica being too stupid to understand that the doctors telling her there were two babies in there I can almost understand, especially as she didn't know how pregnancy occurs in the first place (shovelleeeee joeeeee) but the fact that Monica and Chandler were just allowed to take them home no problem was a bit ... Suspension of disbelify just for the sake of rounding off the story quickly.
And then what do they do..... having battled to have children through the adoption process....they proceed to leave two new born babies unattended in the apartment as they consider breaking the football table apart of far greater importance. That part never fails to make me go . Also..... no parents or family there to greet them...... they had JUST had two babies..... and NO one was there make a fuss. Rachel not giving one single thought to taking Emma away from Ross, as all her thoughts were about the job. Ross not breaking down or objecting for ONE second to having his baby taken to the other side of the world practically. |

Few more Ross related gripes well not really gripes ... gripettes if you will:
When Ross's mam gives him the ring to give to Rachel theres no mention of the fact that he once had it to give to Emily. It wasn't like Judy not to get a dig in about that. Quote:

Another thing, I'm sure somewhere along the line Chandler makes out he has not had many lovers and has only slept with a couple of women (I may have got the figure wrong) but he has had a few namely the Italian woman who is already married and had other boyfriends, Julia Roberts' character, Kathy, Janice of course, the woman he met at the sleep clinic who kept shouting out in her sleep, the woman he used to make out with back at college that Ross also liked. This is all before he gets with Monica (there may have been more that I forgot) |
