The lack of any mention of Phoebe's family at her wedding was strange. Frank jnr, the triplets, her birth mum, her bio dad ... Even if we didn't see them a mention would've been nice.

STEPHANIE KNOWS ALL THE CHORDS! I love that bit. But yea it does seem weird with Phoebe's hatred for the chords although she's so terrible at music she probably doesn't actually know the names and was bluffing with Stephanie. Maybe.
Actually does anyone else think that Phoebe's music was alright in the beginning and then got progressively worse

Were they mentioned though they weren't at the rehearsal dinner , or were they? i cant remember. surely she would've had Frank Jnr as the spare groomsman rather than have Ross and Chandler fight over it?

Maybe he couldn't get there? Not all families have family members as the wedding party, my husband was no part of his brothers wedding.

Oh I know, there's any number of reasons why he wouldn't be there, but it would be nice if the writers had thrown a reference to him not being there just to satisfy us hard core gripers

True. I just thought it was lovely that Joey married them again.

Phoebes wedding was one of the nicer weddings on the show I thought, (apart from Monica showing herself up!) it's just a shame they went though all the rigmarole of having them donate the money and take it back, only to end up with the low key wedding after all.

Yeah i thought the donations part was daft.

I did laugh at her name though.

The writing for Monica ruined the Pheobe's wedding episodes for me. It was too cartoonish to have any kind of realism. It was typical of the lazy writing that charaterised the show by that point. Take one amusing feature and just push it to a ridiculous extreme, then push it some more till it's lost the original joke. Like Joey's stupidity.

Agreed. The way they made her happy that things were going wrong was downright nasty

Just watching this episode now....in reality (when he is employed) he has had quite a few women.....including the one who said he was a failure in the bedroom (over the phone, that is)

Frank Jnr and the triplets appeared in season 10, which is why its strange that they weren't mentioned in the wedding episode

Another Phoebe gripe is the episode where she claims that the Brittish guy she's dating is Monica's soulmate. Bearing in mind that Monica was already married by this point, its an unrealistic and silly storyline which proves how horrible Phoebe and Rachel were to Chandler

something that always confused me, in the one where Chandler goes to buy an engagement ring for Monica, he leaves to go get his credit card and the ring accidentally get sold to somebody else. Phoebe and Chandler track the guy down at some restaurant to ask for it back and Phoebe says that she heard the guy say where he was going to propose and actually points him out to Chandler.

but the guy had already left the shop by the time Phoebe discovered he had bought it, maybe she would have seen him from a distance so could have been able to point him out but she never heard him say anything about proposing!

god i'm sad

That part was really silly she overheard all that but didn't notice he was buying the ring she was meant to be guarding! Even if they had a quick scene of her talking to the guy or something before she got distracted with trying on tiaras etc

The Rachel/Phoebe bitchiness towards Chandler is interesting. I wonder is it because he was their friend he was seen as "fair game" for slagging.

Something I noticed whilst ive been rewatching the show:

In series 9, towards the end, Monica and Chandler say they have been trying for a baby for over a year now, before they go and get tested for fertility problems... but in series 10 they celebrate Emma's 1st birthday

The sub plot of ross and joey throwing the ball was a fun thing ruined by monica calling in sick to work just to play.

Don't know if this is a gripe as such but it really annoys me. Maybe it's from me being an aspiring writer, not just a viewer, I dunno. But the episode - which of the name of escapes me - is the one where "JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!"

In Central Perk he sees one of Phoebe's friends and begs for her phone number, despite having form for sleeping with them and never seeing them again.

Well, he promises that this one (Sarah) will be different and Phoebe hands him a pen so he can write her number on his hand, even though he mistakes her name for "Mandy". But Phoebe didn't give him the number; all she gave him was a pen!

It just bugs the hell outta me.

I love this one, particularly where the fireman tell hers to press the reset button, she finds it on the floor on its own and keeps pressing it.

In Season 2 Ross is teasing Monica and he makes het think it's Richard on the phone, when really it's their mum, and Monica says "oh I think I left my diaphragm at your place".
In the the next episode her and Rachel are competing for the condom.
So either the writers forgot or she never got the diaphragm back from Richards

Also - who would start a conversation like that, without even saying hello or anything? Not like she needed her diaphragm there and then!

Now I think about it, its completely bizzare

Another gripe is that bizzare secret closet storyline, that closet was never mentioned before or after that episode

That was kind of justified, seeing as Phoebe had missed out on London

Not really as they arranged it as an anniversary trip. I wouldn't be happy if someone decided they were tagging along on my anniversary.
