Question regarding Phoebe, Frank Buffay was her father, But he was married to the woman who wasn't actually her mother but Phoebe thought was her mother

So was he actually her father or was he just the man who was with her mother when her friend gave her two kids?

Or was he involved with Phoebes birth mother from the beach as well?

The three of them were friends so I think he was involved with both of them.

I've just finished watching the episode where Rachel & Monica are deciding between themselves who gets to have the one remaining condom out of the packet that is kept in the bathroom so that they can have sex with their respective boyfriends (Ross & Richard). At the end of the episode Ross & Richard are the ones traipsing to the bathroom to get them.

Why didn't they keep a stash of condoms in their individual bedrooms instead of having one big pack in the bathroom? That way they wouldn't have to stop what they were doing, get up, put on some clothes/dressing gown, go over to the bathroom, get the condom and then come back again.

Haven't been through every single page so apologies if this has been mentioned before:

When Carol gives birth to Ben, it always bugs me how all 5 of the birth father's friends are crowded around the bed while the poor woman is in labour. I know the midwife eventually clears them out but if I'd have been Carol I'd have wanted a little more privacy! I mean Phoebe, Rachel, Joey, Monica and Chandler aren't relatives, they aren't even her friends, what the hell are they doing there??

That annoyed me as well. There was no reason for them all to go to the hospital in the first place. It annoyed me slightly as well that they all went to Monica & Ross's grandmother's funeral. I doubt any of them knew her (apart from maybe Rachel) but it was another excuse for them all to be together in an episode.

Speaking of the grandmother I was slightly confused as to whose mother she was, Judy's or Jack's? When the nurse comes out of the grandmother's room at the hospital it's Judy she speaks to first about her having passed away and it's also Judy and another female (whom I guess is Judy's sister) who is sorting through her clothes and shoes. But later in the episode Jack is getting upset about choosing the casket and Monica says something to him along the lines of are you upset as it's acknowledging that's she's actually gone. Why is Jack the one choosing and getting upset by the casket if she was his mother-in-law?

Agreed that this is a ridiculous situation, but I guess it is simply a case that common sense and logic is put to one side for the sake of creating a humorous scene.

The awkwardness between Ross and Richard is actually quite funny.

And then in a later episode Judy makes a remark to Monica about her Grandmother seeing her on her wedding day, Monica then says she's here and Judy replies "Not that old crone, my mother!" suggesting it was her mother who'd died.

But they are friends with Ross, the child's father, so you can just about justify it.

What I hate about that episode is that dumb bit at the end, with the supposed view from the baby's eyes. Just mind-numbingly cheesy and pathetic.

I also hate the scene just prior to that where Monica is gushing about being her Aunt Monica and always having gum. What is the relevance of this anyway?

The only two who didn't know Carol prior to her and Ross splitting up were Joey and Rachel.
Chandler, Ross and Carol all went to the same college (I think). Monica was friends with Carol and continued to be her friend after the split. Phoebe was Monica's roommate prior to the split. How close and how well they knew each other is unknown though.

Not a gripe, but interesting nonetheless. Apparently the episode when Rachel teaches Ben those pranks. In the final scene when the Ross dummy falls down the stairs to scare Rachel, was actually made up on the spot. Everyone bar Jennifer Anniston knew. So her panic after she saw that was real.

The actual scene was to continue with Ben and Ross arguing in the apartment rather than Ben running in the hall. Jennifer followed them out in the hall probably thinking "this isn't what we rehearsed" and then the Ross dummy came down

I felt bad for Ross when he found out that Ben wouldn't be named Gellar. Poor Ross.

Charlie in general. I honestly didn't like her one bit.

In the episode where nobody is ready where Ross has some museum function to go to Chandler and Joey are arguing over sitting in the armchair at Monica's. Chandler gets dressed first and then when Joey eventually get's up he takes the cushions off the seat and Chandler says "You've taken the essence" of the chair. Joey then leaves Monica's and a few minutes later comes back and says to Chandler "You've stolen my underwear" and Chandler says to Ross "Well he stole my essence" and then says he'll return the underwear when he gets the cushions back.

At no point does Chandler leave the room to have an oppurtunity to steal Joey's underwear in the first place so when was he meant to have stolen them? He could have stolen them when he originally got dressed but the reason he gave was in retaliation of the cushions being stolen which happened way AFTER.

I think they wrote her character really badly and also she was quite a weak actress.

You're right he was. In the episode I mentioned above earlier where no one is ready Ross yells right in Rachel's face as she wanted Phoebe's advice on what shoes to wear with the dress she had on and he was concerned they were going to be late. Rachel decides then that she is not going which to be fair I don't blame her as Ross spoke down to her like a child.

Explained via temporal physics.

Most of the time we see a cause preceed an effect. But sometimes we see an effect preceed a cause. In this case we see the latter. (I need to cut down on my sci-fi intake , or should that be syfy (siffi))

Not sure if it has been mentioned but why was Monica & Richard at the wedding where Rachel was bridesmaid?

It's possible Mindy was part of the Long Island crew and Richard was a family friend as he was with the Gellars.

Never knew that.

Watching the Vegas episode the other day, Chandler says he'd spend his winnings on a gym membership. But he already has one with Ross....
