Just watching the episode with Susan Sarandon, which if you can bypass the stupidity of the brain plot, is not a bad episode.

Not really a gripe but it is a gaffe that Sarandon is credited as Jessica Lockhart, when in fact she is actually playing an actress called Cecilia Monroe, who within the storyline is an actress playing a character called Jessica Lockhart.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere a scene where Ben does acknowledge him, it may be one of those deleted scene bonuses on the DVD, or I may have dreamt it completely
You're correct. I've started season 8 of the box sets and Ben says to Ross: "Why don't you go back to your own table?" and Ross says "Because little Molly Gilbert is enjoying her adult meal"

A minor gripe but in the episode where Phoebe is standing outside a shop taking charity donations around Christmas time she is wearing a Santa hat and her hair cannot be seen. One guy comes up and puts a note in the bucket but then starts to take out change to use on the bus. When Phoebe challenges him by saying its for the poor and he can't take money out he says he is poor as he has to take the bus. He then says: "Bite me blondie".

Her hair is covered up and he has never met her before so how does he know she is blonde?
Has she perhaps been collecting outside the shop before, and he has passed her at another point, when her hair was down? Who knows.

Watched the first episode where Elle MacPherson guest starred in last night.

One thing bugged me, how did Monica on the phone know Ross was at her apartment when Chandler didn't even tell her?

Is that the one where Chandler cleaned the apartment? I watched that. Monica didn't mention Ross on the phone?

I agree with Belligerence. When Ross comes round while Chandler is cleaning the apartment Chandler rings Monica at her work. At the end of the phonecall she then says to Chandler so you are just hanging out with Ross at which point Chandler hangs up. At no point did Chandler mention that Ross was there during any part of the conversation.

Mini pedantic gripes:

Earlier today CC were showing early S3 episodes. In one of them, Monica tells Carol & Susan about how Ross used to dress up as a woman as a child and sing a song. "I am Bea, I like tea, won't you dance around with me" - the end scene over the credits was a "home video" of them as kids singing it, but Monica was skinny!

Also, in the one where Ross breaks the girlscouts leg, it bugged me how the teacher and the class were all so massively offended that Ross was there, considering he was going out of his way to make it up to the little girl. I also didn't get why the teacher wouldn't accept the sales he made to himself - it wasn't really fair on the other girls, but it wasn't like he was fixing it for himself!

Maybe it was because he added them when he realised he hadn't won (The 'teacher saw him scribbling). So he wouldn't have bought them if he didn't have too. Had he bought them before then he was buying them at the risk of not needing them but he only did it to win...If that makes sense

I completely agree with the "home video" and Monica's weight, I don't think it was ever mentioned that she was ever skinny, but maybe she was and piled on the weight two years on from that video or something? You know, just like Chandler's ex girlfriend who he broke up with after she put on over 100lbs in one summer

This has probably been mentioned but they keep showing the 20th anniversary ad on Comedy Central and this bugs me!

I've not seen the episode in a while but it's the one where Ross finds out Rachel is pregnant. She says condoms are only effective 97% of the time, Ross freaks out like "Why don't they put that on the box??" and then next thing he has the box and is still freaking out "they should put it in big letters!"

I find it difficult to believe that a university professor who is presumably of good intelligence isn't aware of how effective condoms are! Even if he somehow didn't know the exact percentage, he would surely know they aren't 100% effective!

I think Monica probably piled on the weight in her teen years or something.

Ah. I saw that as a question "Are you just hanging out with Ross?" and then he hangs up.

They're always hanging out with one another and she knew Joey was with Janine so asked if he was with Ross.

Agree. This would have worked better solely as a Joey joke (I know he had a scene in the ep when Ross told him, whicb worked better imo).

Agreed. The video was probably from before Monica was fat

This has probably been mentioned before but in the episode where monica is making different types of potatoes for thanks giving (i think) she's screeching about mashed potatoes for ross, etc then i swear she says potatoe tots for mario ? instead of joey. Who the hell is mario. I'll see if i can find a clip. Also can't remember what ep it is but again monica says a line "people have got to finish their stories" only she says SHtories instead, cracks me up everytime.

Its the same episode when Joey is on that poster about VD, and it says "Something Mario isn't tell you", so that's probably why.

It was when they were trying to figure out who got Rachel pregnant but yes I remember her saying "shtories" as well. I'm surprised they didn't make her re-take the scene.

I thought that was just her accent.

But people pronounce things funny in real life all the time. There are no retakes.

This yes, His family won't have him to thanksgiving dinner because they think he has VD, So Monica is playing on the fact his family think he is really Mario

Agree with this, my best friend says "milting" instead of "melting" for some odd reason.

But didn't they have to bring in a kid from middle school to play on the see-saw with her during kindergarten?

Has anyone mentioned the numerous continuity errors in "The one with all the thanksgivings" yet, including Joey attending Monica's thanksgiving in 1992 when he didn't meet the other characters until 1993, and Ross talking about his new girlfriend Carol in 1988 when they married in 1987!

Also regarding Ross & Carol but not related to that episode specifically (this might have been mentioned already), Ross said at one point that Carol was the first (and up to the point of their divorce) and only woman he had slept with but I remember at least two other occasions where he mentions, or someone else outs him, that he had slept with the woman that cleaned his dorm in College and another woman at College who I think worked in the library who was much older.

The librarian, I believe the implication was they just made out/kissed.

In fairness though, I do believe it was clearly implied he did have full intercourse with the cleaner.
