She must have lied about that as she even put money in for his fund, Phoebe went to the party because and lied to Ross as she is prone to do

What on earth was Chandler thinking getting Monica a cleaner? A - they live in a small apartment with no kids and B - Monica actively loves cleaning!
Though it did lead to one of my fave Monica moments, with her head stuck between the cleaners legs "I'm sorry I've never had a maid before, is this not OK?" Love that episode I think Chandler did it to ease the stress on Monica, forgetting how much Monica loves cleaning |

The Handyman plot was funny but it was ridiculous. I guess it was supposed to be. I'd be the same as Ross. I wouldn't have spent all that cash for someone I had never met. Ugly naked guy must have dropped off a contribution, maybe he didn't and the residents wanted Ross to do it as the newvomer.
Either way, the whole apartment building residents were annoying to judge Ross on that. |

Just thought of another one.
In the Nap Partners episode, the Monica/Chandler portion of the episode relates to Monica bumping into Chandler's ex and then Chandler blurting out that he dumped her because she was fat. ( or as he actually said faaaaaaa) Later on Chandler and Monica go to her apartment so Chandler can apologise. But how on earth do they know where she lives, he wouldn't have seen her for about 15 years. |

Hmm. I wonder if there had been some king of previous arrangement for them to show up/swing by if either Monica or Chandler had been in touch via social media. Was the ex 'that' surprised to see them? I can't remember, apart from her saying "hello, skidmark."

Maybe she wasn't surprised because Chandler was on her mind, seeing as she was still holding a grudge after all those years, enough to say "good luck " to Monica and then stomp off without further explanation.
It Does seem more than likely they arranged to meet her off screen tho |

E mail maybe, but again, how would they have had her details? |

Not so much a gripe but I've never got the joke in very early seasons (think it was first actually) when Monica is dating Steve (??) and walks in and says something along lines of "it's so nice to meet you guys" with an outrageous lisp and they all piss themselves laughing and he looks quite proud of himself.
Anyone? What have I missed? |

Do you mean Paul the wine guy in the pilot? Either that or Steve is the guy who interviewed Monica but was stoned

We never saw this Steve but he was referred to as someone Monica had dated and he had some kind of speech impediment.
Monica had just started dating Alan but after a series of failures, including Paul the Wine Guy presumably, she is sceptical about this new guy. I guess the joke is that Monica has told Alan her friends will be judgemental, so he pretends to have a similar flaw to this Steve guy as a wind up. Of course as it turns out, all the friends love Alan but Monica doesn't really feel it and breaks it off to the disappointment of the others. |

Terrible!

Yea at the start Monica is talking to a Co worker about her reluctantance to introduce Alan to the friends coz of the ribbing she gets from them. Then there's a scene where one of the friends reminds her of "Schteeeve " making fun of his problem. So presumably Monica told Alan that that's what they are like.
Actually looking back at Monicas dating history I can see why she wanted to keep Chandler a secret for so long. She gets slagged by her friends and judged by her parents so much! |

Social media? This episode was about 12-13 years ago, before social media took off.
E mail maybe, but again, how would they have had her details? Anyway, maybe they were part of an alumni email group or just found ouy they knew someone who was in touch with her. I mean, we don't see everything. Ross and Chandler were definitely part of a college alumni group in the ep where Ross was reported to have "died" and they had a fake memorial service. |

Friends Reunited started in 2000 which is definitely classed as social media. So that's possible.

If Chandler did contact her on social media, then he could have just apologized online rather than visiting in person |

I'm just watching TOW Rachael lies and tells Joey her boss wants to buy her baby (ridiculous in itself!!! ) and Phoebe is on a date with a really weird guy who's just stated that he "writes erotic novels... For children" seriously?! They thought that was appropriate?
I've never heard that line before, channel 4 must have edited it out. |

That is an all round dire episode and a very inappropriate line

another gripe regarding Rachel and Chandler - in the pilot episode, when Rachel bursts into Central Perk in her wedding dress she doesnt know who Chandler is but in the flashback episodes it turns out she has met him before, several times, so why does she act like she appears not to know him?

To be honest, looking at it put like that it is a bit creepy, to still be pining over some girl you didn't know in high school even after you yourself have got married.

I always thought it was odd that Ross still had this crush on Rachel all these years later even after just coming out of a marriage to Carol. It was as if he was just making do with Carol on the off chance that some years later he may bump into Rachel again, the real love of his life.
In the Thanksgiving flashback episode I find it odd that Ross trys to impress Rachel by calling his mum and dad Jack and Judy In the same episode, Phoebe says that the Thanksgiving when Joey gets his head stuck in a Turkey can't be the Thanksgiving that Rachel was talking about. Even though Rachel wasn't there, she would still have heard that story |
