There were a few scenes over the years of Monica sitting on Ross' lap and them generally being quite touchy feely with each other. I love my brothers but I would never dream of sitting on their laps, a close male friend's lap maybe but not my brothers.

Yea it is as if the writers tried to hard to make them very close and went creepy far. The episode where Rachel is dating the guy who is 'too close' to his sister is weird because the Monica/Ross relationship was as weird at times and no one seemed bothered by it

A stranger to that group could easily see Ross and Monica as a couple or at least not brother and sister

But not really as that much of a main character. Phoebe and Mike are very much background characters

While I agree Ross and Monica were a little weird at times within their relationship, they did nothing even as close to the weirdness of Danny and his sister, such as taking a bath together and her feeding him a doughnut/pastry/whatever it was by sticking her fingers in his mouth and then rubbing his crotch area when the cream spilled on his pants.

Brilliant, how hasn't this been noticed before?!

Not going to lie, I saw that a few years back so it has definitely been noticed, There was a scene with Monica that did the same thing in the coffee house while talking to Phoebe

I may be wrong but isn't this sort of thing because the shows were filmed in one screen size and then cut down, And now we are seeing more with widescreen etc so things that we shouldn't see we do ?

Yes exactly that. Extras would often take the place of the main actors so that the cast would have a real person to deliver their lines to. Of course, as it was off screen no one was meant to see it. Now with wide screen many things like this have been spotted in various older shows.

I find it weird how Phoebe only finds out that she's pregnant from taking a test. I'm no expert, but surely she would have felt the symptoms first before just rushing into taking a test straight away?

In the same episode, how long after winning the Lightning Round do Joey and Chandler swap apartments with Monica and Rachel? That isn't clear

She says that whole guff about her body being faster than medical science which is why she is taking the test. I get a feeling it is the next day she finds out and they switch apartments.

Obviously wouldn't happen in the real world but the writers probably didn't want to string out having to wait to find out if she was pregnant.

I suppose because Phoebe was Wanting to get pregnant and anxious to find out she took the tests. I knew I was pregnant at 5 weeks, no symptoms as such just a feeling so if she tested early there might not have been time for her to develop symptoms..
The time lines of some of the episodes are weird too I started to write a post about it but confused myself.

The stand in clips are in the daily mail today http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ticed-now.html

I do recall that line from Phoebe about her body being faster than medical science

The timeline of that episode is one that's particularly confusing. It would have worked if it was done in real time like the One Where No One's Ready

I think the worst episode for confusing timelines is TOW Dr Ramoray Dies.

That one is very weird, Considering they would have filmed at least weeks in advance then Joey would not be fired from the show just days after his comments in a magazine, And if he was then he would almost certainly not film scenes to write him out

On top of that, He would have filmed the scenes weeks before they aired, And he told non of his friends that he had been written out of the show? The way it plays out is as if they film the soap live

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but Joey claimed in season 1's The One With the Blackout Joey didn't know that Monica had a crush on him when he moved in. But in the season 3 Flashback episode we see Monica very obviously having a crush on Joey before he strips off

A lot of the flashback episodes seem to damage the continuity of the show.

It always annoyed me that Brad Pitt wouldn't eat turkey on Thanksgiving - it's one of the lowest fat, healthiest meats you can eat! He could have had it with some veg!

Maybe he refused to eat something else. You're right, I'm sure Brad Pitt didn't have any Turkey

Yeah, if you remember Monica was not making a turkey, and said that Brad couldn't eat it because of his diet. Later he piles up on Yams because of his Rachel hatred!

Might have been said but here's mine.

In S7 the episode where Ross and Monicas cousin Franny gets married. So Monicas isn't invited because as we find out after she had sex with her cousins husband Stuart. She obviously seems surprised when she sees him. But I'm surprised she didn't know who it was before. Usually when you go into a wedding reception there are pictures of the couple either at the entrance or in the dinner hall somewhere. Maybe Monica was too angry at not being invited that she didn't pay attention to the pictures.

Also usually on the tables (I work in a wedding venue) there are the names of the couple, knowing how attentive she is, she would have recognised his surname? (Unless he had a very common surname)

One thing I've noticed is how many times they use the following 'joke' where two characters will build up something in an extremely positive manner and then one of them will suggest something negative and the other one fires back with something even more negative about the same subject. For example when Pheobe brings her enthusiastic date to meet the friends and Ross and Rachel say -

"He seems really nice"
"Yeah, I like him alot, he's sweet"
"You wanna hang back and get our own cab?"
"Yeah otherwise I'm not going"

It also happened when Pheobe was trying to get her date to sleep with her and she entered the coffee place saying "it was really nice, we had a great time and I like him alot he's just really sweet and things are going at a nice place" and then someone suggested "still not putting out, huh?" and Pheobe angrily said "nope, zilch, nothing, uh-huh".

Pretty sure it's happened in alot of episodes.
