Just noticed in the one where Rachel goes back to work, Phoebe and Joey are in Central Perk and Phoebe asks Joey for a sip of his coffee and a bite of his muffin and he duly obliges.

I thought Joey didn't share food.
Ha, I am also watching it and thought the same. I suppose the subtle difference is she asked rather than just took it from his plate like his date did in that episode.I might be clutching at straws somewhat.

And also with the one with the Rats, why does Molly leave about a minute after Ross and Chandler show up? They were only there following Joey. None of the guys were scheduled to be there.

Surely she didn't have other plans when supposed to be looking after Emma.

Makes sense because Emma took his grapes and she would be too young to actually ask too and would just help herself

I've brought that one up before too. Molly disappears as soon as her girlfriend shows up but she was meant to be watching Emma all night as it was someone's party (was it Rachel's?). It was lucky the boys turned up each following the other one when they did otherwise she would have left Emma alone.

Yeah it was Rachel's birthday party at Monica's they were all at.

It's not like Molly's girlfriend turns up planning to stay with Molly at Ross's either. She asks Molly if she's ready to go out and Molly's already got her coat ready to leave.

Like Gogfumble says, some nanny she is.

Nah, the problem is not one of courtesy.

It's just that he wants to enjoy every morsel of the food himself.

Take it from someone who has exactly the same attitude to food that Joey does!

I'm watching series 3 at the moment and is it me or is the picture quality on the first couple of episodes very dark? I'm watching the 10th anniversary DVD box set with the extended episodes.

Yep I have that problem with the Princess Leia Fantasy episode

Watched the episode where Phoebe has to choose between two guys the other day. Phoebe's response of running off when she realises that both Jason and Vince are in Central Perk is strange. Surely Phoebe knew that both would chase after her and was going to get found out anyway?

I have a gripe about someone else's gripe, not from this thread but from one of those TV and Film bloopers sites.

This gripe was in refererence to a comment from the Season 1 episode that Chandler's mother is first seen. Rachel makes a comment that she never boards a plane without a Nora Bing book.

Somebody on one of these blooper sites claims this is a continuity error because Rachel is never seen with a Nora Bing book on the few occasions she is seen on a plane in future episodes.

This is a ridiculous shout, so we never see her with a Bing book, but realistically how much screen time do we see her on a plane relative to the lengths of flights. I mean a flight to Vegas from New York is 4-5 hours, we are lucky if we see her for 5-6 minutes on that flight. She may well have had a book in the time we don't see. Same story for London, again we see her on screen for about 5 minutes of a 6-7 hour flight. Such a ridiculous suggestion that this is a continuity error.

Maybe i'm less 'innocent' than others, but they were all pretty obvious on first watch through as a teenager.

Agreed.

The only one that has only dawned on me in more recent times isn't on that list, it is from the evil orthodontist episode, after Barry and Rachel have sex in the dentist's chair, Rachel says how nice it is to have the little sink nearby.

I'm pretty certain number four is way dirtier a joke than him simply having wet himself.

I got all of these on the first viewing so they were fairly obvious to my teenage/20 something self. However the one that made me feel uneasy was the one when Ross ran into the bathroom with Phoebe's burning doll's house and accidentally catches Monica 'checking' the shower massager.

These two siblings have far too many close encounters for my liking.

I don't think the writers really thought that one through... Although if it had been Rachel or pheobe he caught "checking the massager" or whatever it would've been "hot" where as with Monica it was "ewwwwwww" but why they had to go this extra step I don't know. Surely Ross seeing Monica in the shower was awkward and weird enough - although this is the guy who tried to kiss his cousin after all. Yuck
And then the relevation later they had in fact kissed each other as teens... Ugh ugh ugh too far

It was very much deliberate from Ross too. Don't think he cared that Monica was in the shower

In one episode Chandler and Monica are sorting through CD's and it is revealed that Chandler has 2 copies of Annie. Now I get that the joke was that Chandler liked Annie, but the joke falls flat because why would anyone own 2 copies of the same CD?!

Many people buy a CD for themselves and then a relative buys them one for a birthday or christmas and they end up with 2. I was once given the same CD by 2 different people for the same christmas and was too embarrassed to ask for a receipt to return one

The thing that annoys me most about the shower scene is that Ross called out to Monica and she replied by saying she was in the shower.

Granted, she would not have expected Ross to walk in, but by at least knowing he was in the apartment, why would she risk 'pleasuring' herself when there was always some risk of being caught once she knew someone was in the apartment?
