The scene where Chandler and Phoebe try to convince that guy to give up Chandler's ring is so lame. Its so obvious that they're lying

He was just so enamoured that "THE RACHEL" had done this because she still had feelings for him and was jealous that he had to kick baldy to the kerb just like he did with Julie.

It's Rachels signature move. wait til he's happy and not obsessed her then mess it all up and then not even go out with him.
Until mona and Charlie of course he fooked them up on his own. (edit: actually Charlie wasn't his fault and while Mona was Rachel related it was totally down to Ross)
And 50/50 on Emily”

Chandler seems to be trying to convince Monica that he would be a good boyfriend for her, and to be honest, if you were just trying to convince people that you could be a good boyfriend in general, he wouldn't just be doing it to Monica. He'd probably try with Phoebe and Rachel too.

Ross has really done some kerb kicking hasn't he?

Julie, Bonnie, Mona. All really nice girls that he could have had a great relationship with but because they're not Rachel, not good enough.

It's amazing they did get together after everything they did to each other, but I suppose that was one of the points of them getting together. They love each other through everything.

I'm not a big fan of the whole proposal storyline in general. The above episode plus the way Chandler messes up the proposal before Monica runs to Richard before going back to Chandler.

Yeah, what was that all about?? Were we just supposed to forget that we'd already met Richard and quite liked him? And the Richard we'd met would never do that to Chandler. Comparable to the hatchet job the writers did on Emily after 'Take thee Rachel' although I suspect the well publicised problems Helen Baxendale had with the producers gave them an excuse.

The treatment of Emily was awful but it's just believable because Ross didn't know her that well and he took ****ing Rachel on his honeymoon... Or at least tried to!

With Richard it just messes up the great tragic love story (for a sitcom anyway) that was Monica and Richard. Also Chandler keeps bringing him up in the early stages of their relationship in a jealous and almost smutty petty way after Richard hadn't mentioned in years.
Ugh.

I think it's been mentioned before but I saw the episode again today and it reminded me.

When Chandler spends all day cleaning the apartment and moving things around after just moving in with Monica, Ross pops round. This obviously wasn't pre-planned as Ross asks Chandler what he was doing as Monica will not be happy as Chandler cannot remember where everything goes back. Chandler then rings Monica at work to reassure himself that she won't mind but she does most of the talking and starts ranting about her day. At the end of the rant she then says "So you're just hanging out with Ross?".

At no point did Chandler mention that Ross was there as he barely spoke and it wasn't pre-planned that Ross was coming round.

On that, did Ross buy Rachel an extra ticket? Otherwise how did all three of them get to be at the gate?!

Rachel was going to use Emily's ticket. They didn't think Emily would show up to use it herself

But Emily did show up. The question then is how did all three get to the gate on two tickets?

It's the very worst part of that whole story.
Utterly stupid and all for the hilarity of Rachel being shipped off to Greece alone

Rachel was at the gate trying to get back to the US so presumably she had a ticket for the US and just happened to wander along and interfere with Ross at just the right time

Edit: actually Ross must've had Emilys ticket to get Rachel on.
So airport security was laxer (if that's a word) and Emily was going to board with no baggage just hand luggage or she was just coming to meet Ross not actually go on the trip
Does she have a small case with her? She does tho doesn't she

Could be (And it's a stretch) that Monica knew Ross also had the day off and would probably end up at the apartment as they all spend their free time together

Interesting - though security was lax then and there's other occasions when characters make it to departure gates without tickets (the last ep, for example - even if Ross had had to buy a ticket to get to the gate it would be silly to assume Phoebe had as well just to witness the whole thing).
You're right though, Ross must have had both his and Emily's tickets otherwise Rachel wouldn't have been allowed on that specific plane. I don't recall that he gave her a ticket though? I don't remember.
Agreed though, ridiculous storyline!

Pre 9/11 it was possible in US Airports to actually walk up to the Gates, you could be met right at the gate or sit with you SO until the plane was boarding

I know in the last episode Phoebe reminds Ross he has to buy a ticket and then tells him he needs to buy her one too so she can see how it ends then she smirks at the staff member and says it's their honeymoon!
It's funny to see the earlier episodes like where Ross is going to China and Rachel asks the gate attendent to give him a message or when she tries to fly without a passport or When Chandler goes to Yemen and fusses pretending to buy the ticket! They'd be dragged off into a private room and severely questioned these days.

Actually thinking about the last episode Rachel wouldve been in real trouble she delayed two planes with nonsense she definitely would've been detained if not arrested!

Him liking that movie doesn't tie in with him not having a soul though...

And ewwwwwwwwwwww I never even thought about the fact that Monica continued/started having it away with herself knowing Ross was in the next room... But hey they lived together as teens and probably used to it

Chandler and Gay porn...I'm not sure. Half of me thinks "NO WAY" maybe he may have been curious to see what his dad saw in it but I reckon he wouldn't have kept them.
I'd say it could've been some kinda fetish stuff though.
They all know him and Joey like porn.
The one with the porn, Monica buying them all porn etc only being freaked he was doing it to sharks etc
So the secret stash must be something embarrassing.
Maybe some humiliation style stuff or fa-ah-aht (as he'd put it) chicks. Ooh maybe foot stuff as he's missing a piece of his toe.
Or more copies of Annie
The skies the limit really.”

Could be shark porn to be fair

Ahh yes I forgot about that - haven't watched the last episode in a while!

I watched the one with Ross's sandwich yesterday and there's some huge continuity errors.

At the start Joey steps in and claims that the underwear found in Monica's apartment was his but infact they were Chandlers and in the final scene, it's somehow been changed so that it was joey's underwear in Monica's apartment.
