I haven't seen the episode in a while but wasn't that around the time Monica and Chandler were hiding their relationship and Joey was the only one that knew. He pretended the underwear was his so the others didn't find out about the relationship.

In TOW all the thanksgivings,

When Phoebe tells the story of the time Joey got the turkey stuck on his head. Rachel is hearing the story for the first time. That episode was 1999, it's hard to believe that story wouldn't have come up at some point before 1999.

Oh god I really need a life

Surprising but not impossible that it never came up considering that in the last episode it is revealed that they went almost 10 years without Ross trying to make it as a dancer coming up

He wasn't really showing interest or trying to pull her.

They were both just joshing around really, maybe a bit of mild flirting.

More revealing was the time Chandler was sleeping on her sofa because he did not want to listen to Joey and Cathy doing it, and she bent over to watch him sleeping for a few seconds.

Never noticed that one. I wouldn't have necessarily suspected that Monica was into Chandler during season 4

When it was suddenly revealed that when Monica hooked up with Chandler, she had actually been wanting to sleep with Joey.

Firstly, it completely destroys the idea of a charming romance between Monica and Chandler.

Secondly, it completely destroys the idea of a friendship of equals between Joey and Chandler.

Thirdly, quite clearly in the original episode that was not what was intended, and Chandler and Monica had a heart-to-heart in the reception just before.

Fourthly, it was just not very likely, unless the female cast members were constantly trying to sleep with Joey every time they felt a bit down in the dumps.

I dont agree with either of these points.

It was a crappy epsiode though which the writers admit in the commentary wa a bad idea. personally I skip it on re-watchings.

It's as bad an episode as Joey speaking french and Phoebe's mother the cat for me

Here is one from me, Why did Chandler bring Zak(?) home to see if Monica wanted him as a sperm donor when Monica had her hostile uterus and so they still would have almost no chance even with a donor?

Seems a bit picky. Chandler's sperm were bad swimmers so Zak's would have definitely increased their chances. He loved her and any increase was better than nothing.

The time when Richard and Monica first started dating and Jack accidentally makes a joke about trading his Porsche for Monica is just creepy

When you consider Jack didn't realise he was talking about his own daughter, it really isn't creepy.
Cliched maybe, but not creepy.

The Phoebe's mother is in the cat episode annoys me too but only for the way everyone treats Ross because of it. He was the only one who told Phoebe straight when everyone was too scared to. And also after Phoebe has a go at Ross for telling her that the cat belonged to a little girl and was not her mother and Rachel made Ross apologise to the cat, I was on Ross's side.

As the other posters have said Jack, at this point, was still referring to Richard's girlfriend as "the twinky in the city" and did not know it was Monica. Ross even says before Jack gets to finish what he was about to say "Dad I beg you not to finish that sentence".

Yea i wasn't a Ross fan but on this occasion he was thrown under the bus for some reason

And the fact that episode was done the way it was because one of the writers lost her mother annoys me no end too

True jack didn't know but the writers didn't need to make us contemplate the notion of Monica doing it with her dad lol

Ross was totally in the wrong in that episode.

Y'all are letting your joyless, humourless, insecure, materialist, atheistic control freakery override your human kindness.

It's a modern disease.

I think Ross was right in theory but very insensitive about it

Considering that Phoebe wasn't always right in the head, Ross should have more sensitive about the issue even though he was so obviously right

I disagree. While there were many times Ross was a bit of a douche, this was not one of them. Phoebe was a total fruit loop in this episode.

I dunno I think Ross took out his anger at the other friends for not telling Phoebe on Phoebe herself, humiliating her in front of the others who already knew and Phoebe was hearing it for the first time.
She did the right thing after Ross apologised so Ross was right to tell her but he could've been kinder to her

Monica watching Chandler sleep was the Eddie storyline in season 2.

With the Cathy storyline in season 4, Monica lets a rather deflated Chandler into the apartment because he doesn't want to listen to Joey and Cathy. No watching him sleeping in that one.
