Monica watching Chandler sleep was the Eddie storyline in season 2.
With the Cathy storyline in season 4, Monica lets a rather deflated Chandler into the apartment because he doesn't want to listen to Joey and Cathy. No watching him sleeping in that one. |

Monica watching Chandler sleep was definitely Eddie coz the reason he went to sleep in there was coz he woke up with Eddie sitting there watching him
So when he woke up to Monica looking at him he said something like "there will be no more watching of the sleeping" Does anyone remember the one where Monica helps Chandler lose weight I haven't seen that one in ages |

He wasn't really showing interest or trying to pull her.
They were both just joshing around really, maybe a bit of mild flirting. More revealing was the time Chandler was sleeping on her sofa because he did not want to listen to Joey and Cathy doing it, and she bent over to watch him sleeping for a few seconds. Surely that meant he had some sort of interest in being in a relationship with her. Quote:

I dont agree with either of these points.
It was a crappy epsiode though which the writers admit in the commentary wa a bad idea. personally I skip it on re-watchings. Quote:
It's an awful episode I hate it
She did do it on the flight to Vegas too but it's not as bad as the above one because she thought Monica had told Chandler about meeting Richard. But the first one is deliberate and I just don't get why Phoebe has to bring it up. |

Not seen either episode in a while but am quite sure that was the Eddie storyline
I know this because when she watches him sleep he goes crazy because it reminds him of Eddie and he shouts 'No more watching me sleep' |

I just dislike how Phoebe just comes out with "Now tell him who you really wanted to hook up with". I mean, as a friend, why would you say that? Why would you introduce something that you know would upset Chandler and potentially cause a rift between Chandler and Monica.

That bit!!! Ugh why why why did she do that and the smug head on her when she does it too
While Phoebe didn't know that Monica hadn't told Chandler about her lunch with Richard on the flight to Vegas, she still should have considered how jealous Chandler was of Richard |

Which of them dropped Monica in it over cutting off Chandlers toe?
Was it Rachel that time I think? |

Yes Phoebe could be a bitch at times, especially towards Chandler with constant references that Monica could do better etc but Rachel had her bitchy moments too in regards to comments about one of the others.
There was the time when Ross had his problems with Emily after they got married and Emily wanted him to move to cut Rachel out. Rachel made a comment about how out of all of them she thought Phoebe would be the one to leave the group as she was not related to any of them and 'lifts right out'. |

Timing how long people's speeches can last and when they are allowed to go the toilet? That was controlling Monica at her worst. And when Phoebe had had enough and decided to get rid of Monica, Monica just leaves everything in Phoebe's lap and acts all smug about it, meaning Phoebe has to bring her back. Sure Monica mellowed out when she came back, but after the way she behaved the first time she didn't really deserve to have the role back again. I'm not the biggest fan of Phoebe but I did feel sorry for her in that episode, but the wedding at the end is nice as is the episode in general. |

As much as I disliked Phoebe for spilling the beans in the truth about London episode, I always have to question why Monica felt the need to tell her or anyone else for that matter about her initial intentions to seek out Joey.
At the time, nobody else would have known and once she ended up with Chandler that night instead and that led to a long term relationship, it does seem incredibly stupid that Monica would confess that to anyone when she could easily have just let it go and it never been referenced ever again. |

Ross annoyed me more in 'The One Where Heckles Dies' when he kept pestering Phoebe over her evolution theory. Why does he care so much that she has a different opinion to him? I know it was supposed to be funny, but he just got on my nerves acting like a know-it-all.

The Five Steaks and an Eggplant episode is quite poor having seen it on Comedy Central yesterday. The divide between the gang causes everyone to be pretty unlikable and would work better in Seinfeld or HIMYM as a concept. The Chandler sub plot is meh |

Joey not knowing what "air quotes" are in the episode where Ross finds out that Joey is in love with Rachel.
Yet he knew what they were when he did them to Ross himself earlier in the season when newly pregnant Rachel went on a date with an actor from Joey's work and Ross makes a comment about dating actors and Joey says: "Hey, I'm an "actor" to". He also knew what they were when Chandler is trying to get into the locked cupboard in the house that Monica kept her secret junk in and Joey asks for a bobby pin and Chandler says he'll see if Monica's got one and Joey then says OK "Monica". |

Like 'Joey Learns French', it was simply too ridiculous to be in any way believable. Without any sense of reality it was unfunny rubbish. Like much of the last season, in fact. |

I personally think that Joey is the only one of the main 6 who never comes across as being unlikable

Well he treated women like dirt, his whole persona (particularly in the early seasons) portrayed him as an arrogant love em and leave em playboy, only interested in sex who would dump them the next morning. Cracking jokes doesnt change that fact. Of course there were times when he showed a different side but lets be real, the whole "how you doin" act basically meant "I want to shag you".

Again, I'm sorry Joey lovers, but if you ever glance beyond his looks and appeal, there is a lot of promiscuity in his character.
There is a complete character analysis of each of the six starring roles in this document here. https://www.google.com/#q=Sitcoms+Analyzed+studymode Joey doesn't even remember the names of the women he had flings with. Doesn't it define enough? |

It's quite a big flaw though, Can't just be forgotten and make him the 'nice one'
He mentions something in another episode about he has done theatre, film & TV, the only thing left was radio but that's just for ugly people. A few times he has alluded to how more popular with women he is compared to Chandler. Also when he went out on the town with Tag he says finally he has a decent partner to pick up chicks with. |

He could also be quite conceited. When he was conducting the Soap Actors For Beginners class he says to the class something along the lines of they will all need to become more attractive in order to be on a soap.
