There was also the whole 'let's reschedule the wedding' thing. Although one could feel a bit of sympathy for Emily losing her dream wedding venue, especially when she was moving her whole life to the US for Ross, cancelling a wedding that dozens of people have paid for transatlantic flights for would be ridiculous.

I get that. It's like moving into a new school after 5 years from the start when everyone has already made bonds. With soaps it's different because people come and go in large amounts, so new people would normally feel welcomed because it's constantly changing cast members. But with TV series, it's understandable because the core 6 are main characters who spend a lot of time together, the other characters are minor usually.

I am wrong about Rachel though actually. She never did cheat, had to refresh my memory that she never actually did anything with Mark. Another thing with Mark, didn't he say to Rachel that he always had a crush on her (or words to that effect) but didn't do anything about it as she was with Ross at the time? Apart from the fact that he never showed any hint of a crush on her during the time they worked together he also had a girlfriend at the time, another colleague, who Ross initially mistook for Rachel when he came down to her office. Why didn't Mark also say during his 'crush' conversation with Rachel that he had a girlfriend at the time? |

Tom Selleck has made similar comments, though in season 2 the cast probably weren't as much of a clique
It's interesting, it probably happens in a lot of cases in different TV shows. I heard stories of later cast members feeling a little left out in Buffy. I wonder if from Big Bang Theory, someone like Mayim Bialik felt left out.... however they look like a tight group on that show on the outside. |

There's all sorts of rumours that she never felt welcomed by the cast, which is understandable....feels a bit 'cliquey'. But she's been on record to say the nicest cast members were Lisa and Matt.
Apparently Matthew Perry hit back at her saying "I dont think anyone had heard of Helen Baxendale until she was in Friends. She bit the hand that fed her. Bad dog which for me, just confirms what she was saying. It doesn't surprise me. I would imagine their egos where pretty huge by that time. I mean, Matt Le Blanc always seems friendly, but the others are a bit iffy if you ask me. I remember Johnny Vaughan did a show about them, ages ago and they all seemed very cliquey and Lisa Kudrow, albeit in a jockey way, kept telling him to leave them alone. Granted, Johnny is pretty annoying, but he was doing a documentary about them, which they'd presumably agreed to, and they just seemed very cliquey and up themselves- not much charm to speak of, just ego, much like many American actors I find. |

She has said herself that ironically, she didn't have any friends on friends and has hinted they were unfriendly, but plays it down now- probably just being professional.

I always assumed Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox were hard work, especially Cox. Even on the show bloopers, she seems like she has a face like a slapped behind most of the time whereas the others seem to be having fun with it. Perhaps because she was (apparently) the most famous before 1994 and Friends made her even more of a diva. IRL she doesn't seem like the warmest person. |

No she didn't do anything with him. She backed away after he kissed her after her & Ross had already split up because she wasn't quite over Ross.

I've always admired you from afar but am such a respectful guy I never acted on it comes across better than woo you're available let's do it!! |

Regarding the Evilry of Emily...
I need to revisit her and Ross's relationship. He was falling for her and she was seeing another guy back in the UK. Was this before or after he took a beating in Rugby, We should have had a red flags about that Emily!! |

At Judy and Jack's 30th wedding anniversary party Phoebe allows Parker to badger her into eating an oyster (although she doesn't, but drops it on the floor, pretending she ate it). In the past she's been very vocal (and self-righteous) about her vegetarianism so why didn't she just say "I can't eat that."? (and yes I remember she ate meat during her pregnancy but otherwise she didn't dip in and out of vegetarianism).

I've heard that quote (in relation to Helen Baxendale) a couple of times before but it was cited as Matt Le Blanc's not Matthew Perry's.

I always wondered - because with too much free time on my hands, I wonder about stuff like this - if the Rachel Green having a Doctor for a father was a nod to ER which started - I think - the same year.
Dr Mark Green in ER had a daughter called Rachel of course. There was even a Carol and a Susan in the show. And a Doctor Ross. Yeah, I'm pushing it a bit now... |

Haha yea Rachel Green bemused me alright too
Oh the golden age of ER, what days those were. Never forgive them for what they did to Romano tho. Was sickening. Anyway.. You must've loved the guest starring from Clooney and Wyle |

In a show like this, just comedy, I'm sure there's heaps of inconsistencies, I don't care. When Rachel wandered through to take a flight with Ross was one. Doesn't bother me.

IIRC Emily was meant to be a permanent character...the producers loved her and so the idea was she'd marry Ross with no glitches. But Helen Baxendale's pregnancy, coupled with actor's intention to stay put in Britain (for Cold Feet) meant by Season 5 she was unable to commit to the show. The whole wedding was a terrible end to that season.
Apparently Helen was meant to return for a cameo in Season 10, but rejected it. There's all sorts of rumours that she never felt welcomed by the cast, which is understandable....feels a bit 'cliquey'. But she's been on record to say the nicest cast members were Lisa and Matt. |

Not sure if it's true or not but I did read that the party of Emily was originally written for Patsy Kensit who then turned it down as Liam was too busy with Oasis to go to LA with her and she wouldn't leave him for that long.

Noah Wyle bless him seemed as nervous as Charlie Sheen when he did his guest spot. |

Not a gripe as such, but you notice how much the culture of celebrity changes during the run.
In season one, when Helen Hunt and Leila Kenzie walk into Central Perk, there is an applause heard by the audience. Cut to season nine when Ross opens the door to reveal Freddie Prince Jr as Sandy, the screams are unreal! |

Im pretty sure if i opened a door to see Freddie I would scream too lol. But i I only know Helen Hunt from What women want and i don't know Leila so wouldn't give a reaction to them if i was in the audience (I assume they're quite well known in USA compared to here)
