Well in the 90's they were the stars of a huge sitcom called Mad About You which was also based in Manhattan. Lisa Kudrow was a regular guest star who played a ditzy waitress named, wait for it, Ursula Buffay!

The two shows were essentially linked. Hence why when they came in to the coffee shop and saw Phoebe they assumed it was Ursula.

Some extra trivia for you:- the blackout in Season one was also caused by a character in Mad About You!

The whole thing was strange and added nothing to the episode. Almost every other special guest star, if you asked me, I could probably tell you what happened in that episode, because they added to the plot. Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, would be a total guess if I got it right!

Didn't know that, I knew about mad about you (never seen it) and Ursula but just assumed they knew her from the restaurant she worked (as they said they were there last night)

I read somewhere... Years ago,
When Tom Selleck would walk on set the audience would scream so much they had to pause recording. Or something to that effect.

Shame really, If it ended when they killed off Mark Greene people would still be raving about it as a stone cold classic.

RE The Clooney and Wyle thing. Clooney was hilarious. One of the best guest stars they ever had for me. Noah Wyle bless him seemed as nervous as Charlie Sheen when he did his guest spot.”

Charlie Sheen is adorable in his cameo. Hardly seems like the Charlie Sheen we know now!

I may never get over what they did to Romano on ER. Ugh. I don't know what they were thinking with it but it was vile. But yes like a lot of long running dramas it lost its way but I'd love to watch it again from the start one day. Pure nostalgia.

The Robin/Billy cameos were purely self-indulgent (why was Robin putting on an accent?). It looked to me as though they were just improvising the words on the spot. It could be that the guys were in the area at the time of filming and said they would appear on screen off the cuff and just made it up hence why there was no pre-prepared script for them.

That's my guess anyway.

Pretty sure that happened, They were filming in the same building etc and they asked them to do something

If it was scripted then jeez it was bad

Watched an episode today and realised i get irrationally angry at the lazy pathetic joke of Phoebe thinking 'Pheebs' was a group nickname, Why? If it was why would no one else ever have used it etc....Why didn't Lisa Kudrow (Or the others at times) step in and say something like 'My character isn't that stupid' so irritating

That is a bit of a strange one. It is a random joke and surely someone would have stepped

I love how after Chandler points out the flaws of the other characters in Season 1 (Pheobe chewing her hair, Joey cracking his knuckles, Monica snorting) the first time we EVER see any of these flaws is during that scene. None of those flaws were ever mentioned before or mentioned after.

Watching TOW The Morning After.

I wonder... I know Ross cheated (on or off the break aside). Gunther was the person who purposely told Rachel. After that, they continued being "pally" with Gunther for 7 years even though he was the one that caused all the shitstorm! I know it's a show, but you'd think even if Ross knew he should take responsibility, that he would be a little pissed off with Gunther.

It was completely forgotten about the next episode. Also,

Always wondered about that too, Even when Ross asks if he told Rachel he gives his answer sarcastically. I thought something more should have came of it

So Chandler brings Zack home and sends him to sit on the couch, meanwhile in the kitchen Chandler tells Monica that Zack would be a perfect sperm donor.

Amazing how soundproof that invisible wall is between the living room and kitchen lol. I thought it was bad enough when they did it through the apartment door.

When Monica and Chandler are on honeymoon Phoebe and Joey have their door broken down. It's axed right down the middle...and yet the frame around the peephole was undamaged!

That is the same in all tv though so can't really fault friends for that as annoying as it is

At that point Monica's parents were not aware that Chandler & Monica were living together or were even a couple so as Cris182 said Monica was trying to emphasise all the good points about Chandler before she broke the news of their relationship

Ross never shows it but it's quite obvious that Gunther hates him so you would think Ross also disliked Gunther back

I think Ross is wise enough not to challenge the guy who makes the coffee.
What's the one where something happens to Ross and he turns around and Gunther is grinning at him, is it when Joey accidently hits him?

That is when Joey hits him. Also Ross does challenge Gunther when he realises that Gunther insulted Ross in Dutch

It was pretty weird how Monica let Rachel move in with her permanently after only seeing her for the first time in years and realizing she wasn't even invited to her wedding.
