This is a gripe of mine in many US shows - when I watched the final season of ER the ep where George Clooney makes a return appearance was ruined by his name being credited at the start of the ep!
Definitely agree, I remember certain X-files episodes did this also and the if you know the nature of that show you know why it ruined things

The fun parties was a ruse to get her number, maybe she was expected phone her machine to check the messages to receive her invite to said fun party. but yea why in God's name didn't she have a mobile phone or even the most American of all a pager?
Or they could've had her forget said phone or pager at home and Ross being the interfering fook he is answered it?

But yay thank you for saving the thread
Never stop griping folks.. Never!!!
Maybe she didn't now her Mobile Phone Number of by heart, I don't and have had the same number for at least 6 years now

And rather then go through the fuss off having Phoebe get her Phone out to find the number or search her own Phone to get the number up she just gave him the 1st one that came to mind

I have another gripe.

In the Princess Leia episode, Christina Pickles is credited seconds before we actually see her. So for those watching for the first time, the joke/reveal is somewhat spoiled.

It's throwback to how residuals were calculated. Pre Computerization (and still happens in some smaller TV stations in the US) the next day a Show aired someone at the station would be given the task of going through the previous nights TV shows, noting down who was on the show by looking at the TV credits at the start of the show, and sending those details off to the Screen Actor's Guild so residuals and union payments/credited-hours could be calculated

Often an actor who is out of work is dependent on those credits so-as to qualify for SAG's Medical & Dental Plans

Thus featuring details of actors in the pre-credits is part of the deal the Producers have with SAG

An actor can be excluded from the pre-credits but it has to be agreed with them and not the other way round. Few actors will agree because they never know when they will want those credited hours

I'd forgotten that episode where Joey needed the SAG work to get his Op done

Whats the difference between the person listing the actors by the credits at the end of the show instead of the start though ? Listing "guest" actors at the start is just silly as it ruins any suprise for the viewer.

At the end of the show required the person to go to the end of the tape, not too bad for a half hour sitcom but a chore for a hour long drama.

Putting it at the start means they can get the report done in a fraction of the time

Did we ever see Dina (Joey's sister) in the S3 episode? She must have been like 12 at the time!

I'm sure there were 7 sisters in that episode who all looked identical so we probably did even if she wasn't named

Underrated moment is when Phoebe asks Mike how many sisters Joey has and Joey holds up the wrong number of fingers

But that doesnt make sense as only the "main" actors are listed at the start so wouldnt all the actors who are listed at the end also need their names sent to SAG?

My biggest gripe at the moment is the number of articles about Friends on Digital Spy. They clearly love Ross and hate Phoebe which is why they ignored their own poll to find the most popular character and went on (and on) about the Comedy Central one. They evidently don't have enough actual work to do, so a trimming of the Friends journalists on Digital Spy would be most welcome.

Joey's seven sisters are called Gina, Dina, Mary Angela, Mary Therese, Veronica, Cookie and Tina.

The one called Veronica is actually not certain. Chandler stuck his tongue down her throat only it turned out to be Monica. The similarly in names to me implied there actually is no Veronica as that's the only time that name is mentioned.

Is it me or does Joey come across as abit creepy when advertising his apartment. Such as 19 year old comment, and then taking the shower curtain down. Then the quiz at the end.

Thought it was supposed to be inappropriate. It was typical Joey, just turned up quite a bit.

Very creepy - imagine a different less adorable character acting this way? And his whole telling Rachel, one of his best friends, that she can only move in if she agrees to naked days? A real life woman would not be friends with joey

And when that woman from Sex And The City plays one of his conquests (who Rachel & Phoebe take a shine to and want Joey to have a proper relationship with), when Rachel walks in on her in the bathroom she says she couldn't get the lock to work and Rachel said that Joey kind of disabled it when she moved in.

No they wouldn't be friends with a creepy womaniser, but Joey is at least a nice guy unlike Barney Stinson

The Joey's Fridge episode is on now. Joey behaves so out of character in this episode. Had forgotten about Joey "working" at Central Perk and just sitting with the gang. Elizabeth looks like Amanda Seyfried. Phoebe pointing out that Ross and Elizabeth shouldn't be together is a bit rude but correct. Rachel mentioning Ralph Lauren is a bit weird, seeing as she doesn't seem to know Ralph Lauren when Phoebe "makes out" with him

Don't get that last bit about Lauren, can you expand?

I'm on about how Lauren doesn't seems to know Rachel in the lift, and completely ignores her. But in the Joey's Fridge episode Lauren seems to be Rachel's boss

The way that Chandler and Monica compete with Phoebe to find Rachel a date is awful. No one behaves like that in real life

I don't recall the actual scenes from the fridge episode, but surely he is the boss in purely the technical sense that he owns the company. He is never her direct line manager, but it wouldn't be wholly inaccurate to refer to the top man as a 'boss'.

Agreed on the date thing, such a terrible storyline.

I dont get that? Why would Ralph Lauren know who Rachel is? There's probably hundreds of people working for him. I always thought Kim was Rachel's boss and then Mr Zelner? With Ralph being the overall boss and owner of namesake company

Rachel knows who Ralph Lauren is and what he looks like is but has never directly spoken to him, it's Phoebe who doesn't know who he is as she mistakes the copy boy for him.

We have a CEO of the company that I work for and if I walked past him now he wouldn't know me from Adam as there are probably about 10 line mangers between me and him but I would know him instantly as I've seen pictures of him on the company's website and in-house publications.
