My last meat dish was chicken wrapped in bacon. I had it at my high school ROA/prom on 11th May 2007.

My last fish supper was a tuna panini on 2nd July 2011.

Can anyone else remember their last time?

Well it was about 1980 and it was probably sausages as I had stopped eating joints of meat a few weeks earlier.

Mine was peanut curry chicken and rice that a friend cooked me in August 2009 and it was nice. Lentil curries are just as nice.

Roast pork, 1976, I had again just had a bite and pushed it to the side of my plate and my gran said why pretend just admit it you don' t like meat, I agreed and never had meat again.

Fish I stopped about 2 years later when I had some horrible greasy fish and chips. Put me off completely.

Was vegan for about 5 years but made myself so ill not being a good vegan I went back to dairy and eggs and have never looked back - until this thread LOL.

A hotdog in New York 1999, because I was so hungry. The Americans don't seem to do a lot of veggie food

No humans absolutely do not need to eat meat, I had problems with being vegan because I was not eating right not because the vegan diet is bad.

You can have good vegetarian or meat diets and bad ones. I'm not going to say more on this because I think most vegetarians have heard it all before but there are different views on this, for instance, that humans have longer intestines that pure meat-eating animals.

I think humans were designed to be omnivores not just meat eaters but a person can be perfectly healthy without eating meat.

A few months ago my hubby had a conversation with an indian work mate about cancer, and was told indians don't get cancer because they never eat meat, the only thing they suffer from is heart disease, my husband has been telling me for years meat is bad for us,the only meat we'll eat now is organic chicken and eggs....

Erm...horses have one stomach, as do elephants.....

I'd argue that our biology is actually more suited to vegetarianism than being a carnivore. For a start we have an extremely long bowel, far longer in terms of body length than any of the true carnivores. They need to get meat out of their systems quickly, before it starts to rot and cause issues with toxins. Humans also have massive issues when we intake a surplus of animal fat, which causes us circulation and heart problems. That doesn't happen in true carnivores either.

Someone told me a few years ago that they don't agree with being a vegetarian because it causes cancer.

This person was someone who claimed to be studying for a degree in forensics.

Idiot.
