Gabrielle Aplin sets up own Record Label! Would she be good for X Factor?

She is a young judge, off course who could fill Tulisa's position on the show. She writes her own material, and was just 1 1/2 years ago was releasing music on you tube to get recognised. Her debut album is coming out next month. Off course many may say that she doesn't have the experience, however her quote in saying why she set up the record label shows she has knows what she is talking about and has a real love for music.

"When I went to City of Bath College I studied the music business.

"I like being able to understand that side of things, so I've started my own label, Never Fade. Hannah's voice is amazing. It's like Beyoncé covering Michael Kiwanuka.

"I've been advising her on how to pick producers and which of her songs she should record."

Since she was discovered in 2010 she has released 3 EP's and toured the UK and Europe so she knows how tough it is to break into the industry, and could really relate to those that are currently auditioning on the show.

Gabrielle has also supported Matt Cardle, Gotye and Charlie Simpson and she has been announced as Ed Sherran's support act for the Australian and New Zealand part of his tour. I think she could be a nice addition to the show, and could bring some credibility along with it.

Thoughts ?

She's had a No.1 but I've never even heard of her...*googles*...Gabrielle has a good voice but how can she judge the X Factor when I don't think she has it herself.

Well the same could have been said at the very beginning when Danni Minogue was brought onto the show. X Factor doesn't need star judges on the show, they need people who know how to mentor and have a good idea about the industry and can make their opinions be herad. Star judges don't mean good mentors we can see that over and over again.

They talk about making the X Factor 2013 the year of change, and going back to basic's, looking for talent. Well the best talent will be found by those who know what they are looking for, has an indication of what is working in the industry, and has a love for music, not just by those with a massive name. Time to forget about the records sold by the judges and look at their experience, I believe that is the fundamental problem with not just X Factor, but other talent shows. They no longer look for judges with personality, experience and an actual love to be a mentor, but they search for a big name. Chemistry and an idea to effectively mentor contestants should be at the forefront of this series.

I'd like to see them on the voice TXF just wouldn't suit them. Someone more commercial should be on X Factor, like Katy Perry.

I think despite Gabrielle's friendship with Janet Devlin, she would more than likely be uninterested in ever being a part of the X Factor other than a performance slot on the live shows.
