'EastEnders' return for Selina and Penny Branning

EastEnders bosses have today (Feb 24th) announced that they are planning to reintroduce the characters of Selina and Penny Branning, for a guest stint in the Spring.

Both characters originally appeared in 2008, introduced as the estranged family of established character, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen). Jack's then girlfriend, Ronnie (Samantha Womack) tracked Selina down, after she did not allow him access to their daughter, Penny. It later transpired that Selina had left Jack because Penny was caught up in his corrupt activities, and was left paralysed from the waist down as a result. During her brief time on the Square, Selina slept with her ex, Jack, and they were caught by Roxy (Rita Simons). Selina then left Albert Square with Penny, but Penny returned for a visit in April of the same year, and acted coldly towards Ronnie. Despite Scott Maslen revealing that Penny would be appearing intermittently, the Character has never returned since.

Since away from the Square, both Selina and Penny have been mentioned multiple times. Noticebly when Jack revealed to Ronnie that Selina had remarried. Also, despite not being on the Square at the time of the hit and run, Selina was listed as a potential suspect when Max Branning (Jake Wood) was mowed down by a mystery driver. The culprit later turned out to be Lauren Branning (Madeline Duggan then).

Actress Daisy Beaumont, who played the role between 21st January 2008 to 1st February 2008, was not asked to return, and the role was recast to Spooks and Last Tango in Halifax actress Nicola Walker. Mia McKenna-Bruce, who is know known for her role as Tee Taylor in CBBC's The Dumping Ground, will return to the role of Penny.

The news comes after Scott Maslen's departure after 5 and a half years in the role of Jack Branning was announced. Selina and Penny's arrival's are tipped to be in connection with the Womaniser's exit.

Fans of the BBC One Soap Opera can see Selina and Penny's return scenes air in the Spring.

'EastEnders' exit for Couple

EastEnders couple Whitney Dean and Tyler Moon have been axed from the BBC One Soap.

Both Shona McGarty and Tony Discipline will bow out of the Show when their current story comes to an end, in April.

According to SoapBlog, Whitney and Tyler will exit Albert Square, following their Wedding. However, it is currently unknown if they will be leaving together, or separately.

A EastEnders spokesperson said: "It'll be a big few months for Whitney and Tyler as a Couple, as the Drama leads us into their Wedding, and ultimately their exit".

Discipline has starred in the role of Tyler Moon since June 2011, originally billed as the new 'heart-throb'. However, since his arrival, Bosses have struggled to appeal audiences with the Character. McGarty, who first appeared in April 2008 as the adopted daughter of Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) has been involved in some of the show's biggest storylines, including her abuse at the hands of Tony King (Chris Goghill) and Billie's death. Both were said to upset with Bosses' decisions, but are looking forward to 'future prospects'.

Shona McGarty is currently dating Ex-Eastender and Dancing on Ice contestant Matt Lapinskas, who played Tyler's brother Anthony, from 2011 - 2012.

Whitney and Tyler's exits air in April.

Recent speculation has hinted towards the future of The Queen Vic, after EastEnders Boss, EEFanatic posted a cryptic spoiler on Social Networking Site, Twitter.

The Queen Vic is currently owned by Phil Mithcell (Steve McFadden) who employs Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) to run the iconic pub. Up until her affair was discovered, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) acted as the Landlady.

'EastEnders' announce two more exits

It has been announced that both Himesh Patel and Chucky Venn will leave the BBC One Soap later this year.

Venn, who plays Queen Vic Chef and Father of Morgan Butcher (Devon Higgs), Ray Dixon, joined the Soap in January 2012, when Whitney (Shona McGarty) tracked his character down. Originally Bosses had planned a feud between Ray and Bianca over her parenting styles, but the storyline was dropped when actress Patsy Palmer left on a sixth month break. During his time on the Square, Ray has enjoyed a relationship with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson), which ended when Ray kissed Kim's sister. Ray was also a potential mystery lover of Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace), but was the first out of five to be ruled out.

Ray's exit will air in March, with Venn having already filmed his final scenes.

Meanwhile, Tamwar Masood will also make his exit, following over five years on the Square. The Masood's have recently been rocked following the departures of Zainab (Nina Wadia) and Syed (Marc Elliot). Tamwar will make his exit in the Spring, and it has been suggested Meryl Fernades could reprise her role as Tamwar's estranged wife, Afia Masood for his departure.

It is speculated that more departures are on the way, as new boss EEFanatic is keen to mark the start of a new era for EastEnders.

'EastEnders' Alfie, Roxy Queen Vic exit confirmed

Following rife speculation that The Queen Vic will see new Owners at the helm, EastEnders bosses have confirmed today that they are casting a new Family to run the iconic Pub.

The Queen Vic is currently owned by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) who employs Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and cousin Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) as Landlord and Landlady of the Pub. Other employees include Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), the departing Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) and Tracey (Jane Slaughter).

A spokesperson for EastEnders is quoted as saying: "We felt that The Queen Vic needed a breath of fresh air, a source of new energy, which we were simply not getting with the current characters at the helm".

"The Moon's story in The Queen Vic has finished, but we are very much looking forward to exploring how Alfie copes with being outside the Pub".

According to an inside source the change is set to happen within the next few months.

EastEnders continues tonight, with EEFanatic's first credit being broadcast on Monday 11th March 2013.

I have decided to start from the episode airing tonight, as it gives me time to develop a plot I have planned for Sharon.

Monday 24th February 2013

In R&R, Jack suggests to Sharon they should get away for the week, perhaps to the Lake District. However, Sharon declines, revealing she has agreed to help Phil plan for Lola's upcoming court case. As Sharon heads to the suppliers, an annoyed Jack contacts an old colleague who now runs a Bar up west, and is delighted when his friend reveals he is looking for a new manager. Jack suggests Sharon for the position, but realises he will have to get her onside. Later at their flat, Jack informs Sharon that he has found he a better payed job up west. Sharon seriously considers the offer, as Jack tells her to step out of Phil's shadow. With that, Sharon heads off to talk to Phil about her leaving R&R, but Phil is unimpressed with the news. Desperate to keep Sharon close, Phil offers her a share in R&R. Sharon is delighted, and accepts Phil's offer. As Sharon heads off, Phil smirks to himself. Sharon returns to the flat where she finds Jack waiting with a bottle of Champagne to celebrate her new job, but Sharon quickly informs him of her decision to stay at R&R - as Phil has offered her a share in the club! Jack is left seething, furious with the fact Phil is controlling his girlfriend, storms off to confront the hardman. Meanwhile, unable to pay Alice for her babysitting services, Michael gives her counterfeit money which used to belong to Derek, but later regrets it as Alice breaks down crying, revealing that everybody has forgotten her late Father's birthday. In his usual cold manner, Michael suggests that Alice speak to her family about it, which she does - to Kirsty! Kirsty brightens Alice up by suggesting she get the whole family together for a drink in The Queen Vic. A chirpy Alice agrees, before heading to the Flower stall to purchase a bunch of Flowers for Derek. However, Alice is left confused when Tracey rejects her money, claiming it to be fake. Also, Carol and Ayesha clash over their feelings for Masood in the Café as Dexter agrees to help out Lola with her upcoming court case. And, a furious Jack storms in the Arches to confront Phil, but as a heated argument ensues, one man finds himself in trouble...

Duff Duff: Jack Branning looks down to the motionless body of Phil Mitchell, fearing he's killed him...

Cast List
Spoiler

P.S I know the episodes are a bit similar to the ones currently airing, but I do plan to take the current storylines in my own direction

'EastEnders' Sharon to become temporary Landlady

Digital Spy can exclusively reveal that Sharon Rickman will be instated by Phil Mitchell as Landlady of The Queen Vic, for a brief period of time.

The news comes after it was revealed yesterday (Feb 25th) that Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) are due to make their exits from The Queen Vic.

Sharon, who is played by Letitia Dean, first appeared in the show's first episode in February 1985 as the adoptive daughter of Angie (Anita Dobson) and Den Watts (Leslie Grantham). Since her original departure in 1995, Sharon has made return stints from 2001 - 2006 and 2012 - present.

Sharon has already taken up the role of Landlady, having bought the Pun in 2001, infuriating Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor).

Executive Producer, EEFanatic commented that whilst Sharon may not be ready to be in charge of The Queen Vic once again, following the murder of her Father, Den in 2005, the move has provided a new storyline angle. "The new storyline we have planned for Sharon is very exciting".

Sharon's first scenes as Landlady air in May, and the character is expected to stay in the role for at least 4 weeks.
