Gareth was easily the best but obviously Karen and Ashley's 'golden boy' Matt has to be top so blatant undermarking and as for Ashley's banal comment 'i want to see more engagement' was she watching the same performance I wonder??

Interesting how we all see things so differently. I though Gareth was pretty awful. Yes he threw the ball and caught it impressively but when he put his arm in the air, for example, he just plonked his arm in the air, there was no finesse or performance quality in those moves or transitions. I was expecting Jason to slaughter him and still can't understand why he didn't other than the fact that he's not Beth.

It was because of the seamlessness that Gareth's prop was integrated into the routine, I couldn't understand why Matt was marked so highly when what is the skill in putting on a hat and skating the issue for me with Matt's routine could have performed easily without the props , in his routine the props were just a cheap gimmick and as for Robin saying Beth's routine was 'predictable' well what about Matt's attempts at break dancing 'tricks' isn't that predictable??

That's one long sentence - and I agree with what you say

What kind of bugged me with Gareths routine IMO and it is just my opinion is firstly there was no actual expression as such and he didn't actually change expression throughout the entire routine particularly given it was meant to be a lyrical number. Also stuff that others have been slated for over the years he got away with the two main examples being him having his mouth open most of the time and nodding his head repeatedly like a nodding dog which I think Luke was also a bit guilty of last night as well but was not picked up on in any way by the judges but others get slated for not changing facial expression during the routine and it is really bugging me that there is favouritism being shown.

I truly hope Beth is topping the public vote and wins through in the final as I think the judges are being unnecessarily harsh on her especially when she is doing everything they are asking each week and then it seems they change their mind about what they actually wanted from her. My heart went out to her last night as when Christine was talking to her I felt the emotion in her voice and IMO I think her voice was cracking a bit and think it could really confidence for next week as I think the judges really got to her last night for no real apparent reason when others did the same as her but got praise whereas she got criticism.
