Matt's routine tonight was by far the weakest. There's so many risks he could have taken with his prop just like we've seen in previous series with the hat, yet he didn't do anything with it. Massively overmarked but I can't say I'm surprised by that.”

I thought it was brill! The hat is SO easy to drop; I'd say it's the most difficult prop by far. You can't do anything 'fancy' with it, like sitting in/on it;you have to rely on solid skating and Matt did that easily. So much solo skating!

I thought Gareth made very little use of the ball - didn't do anything with it really and I found it a dull routine.

I agree that Beth, Matt and Gareth should be the finalists with either Beth or Matt to win. I think Matt is the better skater but next week's flying is likely to favour Beth massively.

Beth has shown in the solo skating week just how capable she actually is and I think the judges are being rather too harsh on her for whatever reason in particular Robin and Jason.”

Cos shes a women, opposite reason Gareth is getting high scores from the same 2 judges

The issue with Beth is not her personality but her lack of performance skills, which Matt has in spades and Gareth is starting to warm up to. She just doesn't seem to 'feel' - and thus doesn't interpret - the vast majority of the music she's given. (I will concede the Emeli Sande week was the one exception to this...but not the Charleston week, that was half-hearted to say the least).

It's going to be hugely down to the luck of the draw in terms of who gets routines that suit them. All three have shown themselves capable of lyrical skating, so whoever gets the 'romantic' routine will be off to a head start. The flying is definitely likely to favour Beth. Bolero should be interesting - Dan and Brianne have done at least two each, I think, so how are they going to make it different from previous years?

T&D could easily have come up with a better hula hoop routine for Beth like Chloe's but they didn't.

That's because they're setting the scene for Beth's triumphant comeback next week with an amazing flying routine IMO.

I hope she gets a lot more skating in her other routine as she's very able

Beth needs a routine that involves skating, last weeks was a joke. Talk about a set up!. She was arguably given one of the worst routines you could get!

In terms of this performance thing,it obviously doesn't come naturally to her. As an Olympian all she thinks about is winning the competition she is in, the rest goes out of the window as such!

I hope you are right, because Beth seems to be capable of so much, but the last few weeks it feels as if they aren't putting that much effort into giving her something that really suits her. It's more a case of a few easy (for her) lifts involving the splits and then doing a rock solid hand-stand.

As I said elsewhere if (hopefully when) Beth makes the final two her fate will be out of the hands of T&D and the Bolero routine will rest with Dan - I think she's safe in his hands.

Remind me please - is it a skating competition or a personality contest.

This annoys me so much - every year this programme gets spoilt by people trying to turn it into a popularity contest.

It's a bit of both obviously, anyway it is extremely difficult to vote for someone you do not like.
