like this 'beseiged' -- dr who's always been a great candidate to be blended with another well known franchise but BBC are highly unlikely to go that way -- great to see the gap getting filled

To be honest, I think Dr Who pipped Alien to the post. Ridley Scott was doing it in, what... 78/79? Whereas Seeds of Doom was 75/76. I refer, of course, to an alien life form emerging from a pod and grabbing hold of the nearest human for nefarious purposes.
