Windows Vista Updates & Screensavers
I don't know why but almost every time there is some kind of significant update to windows, my screensaver stops working. Occasionally, it comes back after the next update but this last time it has been down for weeks.
I have set up a cheat so I can run the screensaver from an icon on the desktop but it annoys me that I have to go to these lengths. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? |

I imagine it's done to prevent any kind of corruption while writing important files to your pc.
I have had bad experiences with the screen saver kicking in during updates in the dim & distant past (I haven't used a screen saver since I bought my first LCD many years ago). It's pretty straightforward to re-enable it. Right-click on desktop > personalize > screen saver. |

Unfortunately, however, it cannot be reset from the personalize menu. The settings there are unchanged, it is just that since the update it isn't triggered after the time delay specified. It can only be restarted by executing the screen saver file. |
