Everyone has a personality. Beth is quite reserved but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a personality.

He wouldn't recognise good acting if he saw it. He also confuses personality with what he finds attractive. Worse he actually thinks Joe, Luke, Matt and Gareth are acting roles better..........
On the other side of the equation, Beth's only really been given one routine (The Charleston one) which has a story or style that lent itself to acting.He claimed she wasn't fully into it - but when we could actually see anything, she was. The personality routines require the right music that leads to a role or humour or dance routine, and then the choregraphy to match it. You can't act a story that doesn't exist, or turn a lot of random moves and dull music into a moving story. No one this series has had a routine thats been memorable, andtahts not the celebs faults.
Beth is more self-contained. Perhaps she's not comfortable speaking in public and may therefore come across as boring to some people. Many of the contestants past and previous are actors and therefore much more able to sell themselves, they'll be more vociferous too. Being able to sell yourself or talk about yourself doesn't give you a personality or at least doesn't give you a nice personality but they may be more noticeable!
I think Beth just has a quieter personality than some of the others which isn't necessarily a bad thing being hyper and OTT vocal as some of the actual performers are is not always a good thing like Matt IMO.
Beth does have a personality and that and her sense of humour does come through in a lot of her tweets. She will not have had constant cameras being in her face when she was competing and will not be used to having to show off to sell herself she is used to letting her talent speak for itself not banal inane gibbering to try and show she is the best.

When she did learn to sell her self on floor, she had practiced every move for years. It was her level of difficulty that won her medals.I think someone who is not satisfied with fourth place at an Olympics and works for four more years, adding more difficulty, winning two world titles and Olympic bronze, shows bundles of personality and character. Most gymnasts smile for the cameras when the exercise is finished and they have a good score.She is not however an actor.

Better than being OTT and obnoxious being loud and brash and trying to focus all the attention on oneself that does not equal personality IMO.

If you mean by personality, loud, attention seeking and headline seeking you are right....However being quiet, quick to learn, determined, fearless and thoughtful, that is personality too. Just not one that Jason can understand.
I get the impression a lot of young athletes are trained to not show emotion and to hold back/not let their emotions show ... Louis Smith came across that way to me too

She seems like a quiet girl. Just because she is not loud or shouty doesn't mean that she doesn't have a personality. It is amazing what some people see as a personality. Some people seem to think that you have to be funny, witty and loud. Sometimes when I meet people like that, I think they have no personality.
Beth is so humble and comes across as a sweet genuine person, the judges seem to apply one rule to her and another for the rest of them she doesn't realise how good she is because of their comments and seems genuinely shocked she gets through every week, really hope she wins! I would love her and Gareth to be the final two.

When did this become a personality competition? It's called "Dancing on Ice" and that is exactly what she is doing. Next time call it "Personality on Ice" and then judge them on that and don't worry about their skating.

Doubly so as I well remember T&D being thought of as great technical skaters who couldn't express their emotions well enough to win the Olympics. Well, they got Michael Crawford on their case and the rest is history. I don't think Beth has any problems in the personality stakes, anyway, it's her fabulous physicality (Always Jayne Torvill's star quality) that needs a bit more imagination on the choreography side.
