Beth is used to a very controlled world. doing something less rigorous is probably quite hard for her.

similar to Darcey doing ordinary dance instead of ballet.

She gets criticised for performance and personality, but for her skating she is arguably one of the best on the show.

I like Beth and want her to win (although her winning seems unlikely),If anything all this acting and performing stuff for an olympic athlete id imagine doesn't come naturally,

I find it harsh how she gets criticised from the two performance judges in Jason and Ashley, I think its a joke!

At the end of the day, i'd say shes got her work cut out for winning, bearing in mind Matt and Gareth are getting all the accolades at the moment.

Final 2 will be Matt and Gareth with Beth third i suspect!.

I don't know about that. 4 slebs left and 3 of them have been in the skate off. Beth is the only one who hasn't so her vote looks to be solid

Interesting that you make the comparison with T&D - when you think about it, Jayne and Beth come across quite similar on camera don't they?

I think that a lot of people have misunderstood what Jason's asking for from Beth - a performing 'personality' certainly isn't necessarily all about ridiculous facial expressions and OTT hand gestures. If that were all that was required Joe and Keith would have been streets ahead of the competition.

What I've not seen from Beth - and what I think Jason is expecting to see - is some sort of feel for the music and the mood of the routine that is conveyed in the way she performs each move of her moves. I think she started to get the idea in the Charleston because the way to interpret the mood there is obvious, and certainly the Emeli Sande routine was a masterpiece of elegant understatement (which suits her a lot better than overstatement). But to take an example like this week's Lady Gaga routine, you didn't get the flamboyance of movement or expression you associate with Gaga, which Dan did his best to camp up ridiculously.

This may have something to do with her gymnastics training. In gymnastics, a move has a certain way it should be done and you work to do that move perfectly the same way every time. As pointed out above, this was Beth's great strength - the ability to perfect highly technical moves that boosted her starting scores.

In dance or any expressive art, you have to be able to change the way you perform a move - its character and its finish - to convey the mood of the piece. I don't think Beth has fully grasped this idea as yet and I don't know if there's time for her to do so now.

Didn't she look hot in those silver hot pants in the Gangnam Style dance?

Yes, she does. She has a determined, reserved and respectful personality. Would anyone bashing her for not having one be praising her if she obnoxiously screamed and overacted when she got through? Or if she got cheeky with the judges when she didn't like what they had to say? She is a consummate professional, and I respect that.

A bit hypocritical don`t you think?”

And when I did dare to knock Beth for her personality, I was told it wasn't a personality show

So that's why I used the Matt comparison - it's one rule for one on here if you ask me.
