I have been obsessed with this album since its release and it is on constant play. I love how it's a step up and away from Lights/Bright Lights with more interesting song structures and sounds and an overall more artistic body of work. It's a shame its gone almost unnoticed in comparison to other artist when this really is a album that stands on it's own merits and is an album rather than a selection of singles held together by filler but that also individual song can stand apart from it. Also it was criminal she got snubbed at the Brits when this is much more interesting than most femal pop albums of last year yes Sande i'm looking at you .

So any other fans?

Yes it's a shame she got snubbed, isn't she a previous Brit winner aswell? (the same award emeli and Jessie got?)

For me i like the second half of the album a stunning collection of ballads and mid-tempos along the lines of Explosions for me top picks:

Atlantis
My Blood
Don't Say A Word
Only You
Joy
Dead In The Water

And and as far as Singles she has slayed it perfectly Exploions a definite album Highlight

And yes she topped the BBC sound of 2010 and The Brits Critics choice award and was nominated for best female and breakthrough in 2011 It's also surprising she got snubbed as she has done really well in America equally as well as Ed and Florence.

It's so close to being a 100% flawless album, it really should have been nominated for a Brit. The only songs I'm not keen on are Joy and Halcyon but I don't even skip them.

My favourites are Only You, Figure 8, Hanging On, I Know You Care, Dead In The Water, I Need Your Love and High For This. I actually think DITW and HFS might be my favourite two Ellie songs ever, even beating Under The Sheets and Lights.

So true im a big Florence fan and i compare it in terms of Sophomore efforts to Ceremonials. And what i like most about Halcyon is that it is a true leap forward its her gaining more artistic independence and she really has created an album with great care, time, and effort and it is virtually flawless (save for some of the Deluxe tracks but Bright Lights songs wer not exactly brilliant). So it's a shame that whilst Florence and the like are lauded Ellie is left in the dust when really what we have with her is someone in a constant state of change, eveloution, and more importantly artistic endevour which really is what is missing from mainstream music. Is it the most unique album ever create no but it is original in her approach and the overall outcome is stunning and the flaws of which there are little elevate it.

And in terms of The Brits someone like Ellie is unique and incomparable to someone like Emeli who is kind of pedestrian. And Halcyon 100% more artistic unique and interesting than Our Version Of Events stands with Devotionas my favourite British female solo album of 2012.

My favourite track is Atlantis the harmonies the build her vocal just perfection

I am a bit late listening to Halcyon album but I think it is really good. I need to listen a few more times before listing my favourite tracks. I actually prefer this album to Lights. I loved Explosions and Figure 8, and after hearing these, I decided to listen to the rest of the album and bought it just recently. It seems to me that it is really under rated, which is quite common for the artists I like.

I think it going under that radar is all the more surprising considering the success she has already had it seems like the press and radio etc are obsessed with a handful of artists and are content with shoving them down our throat and acts like Ellie are going uunnoticed

I love the introduction to it. I find it quite eerie. I wasn't expecting that when I first heard it seeing as the first album was quite light (no pun intended)

Same and its why i love Halcyon as a whole i totally underestimate her i was expecting either more of the same or a Folk album and DSAW quickly dispells any such thoughts.

This is a good album but I'm still shocked at 'Figure 8' flopping. That had the potential to be her biggest hit ever!

One of the things i found weird and confusing is one reviewer labelled the album as "factory produced generic pop". Nothing generic at all.
