Those of you who have been following the "Doctor Who One Sentence At A Time" thread will know that there's a lot to be said for posting more than one sentence at a time when contributing to a story thread but my main problem with that thread is that the OP gave license for the story to get wacky and, unfortunately, that kind of derailed a promising story with some posters posting pure nonsense stuff like man-eating tortoises with magic eggs!

I can't really complain about that as the OP doesn't prohibit it on that thread but it's not really my kind of thing. Neither is the Five Words thread any better in terms of sensible stories so I've decided to try a new story thread for posters, like me, who like their stories to make some kind of sense.

I'm not going to list a lot of rules and regulations, nobody has to be an award-winning writer or anything. You can post one sentence or several paragraphs. The main rule is that once you've posted you can't post again until someone else does. All I ask is that we try to restrict events to the sort of thing that wouldn't be amiss on the actual TV show.

Before things turned completely wacky there was a promising story developing on the One Sentence thread which I'd like to see if we can see it through to its conclusion so I am transposing all the posts from that story onto this thread to start us off.

The Master's Revenge - Part 1

The Doctor is taking a rest, at a beach planet and having a well earned rest. The Tardis is being serviced, in a facility nearby created by time lords long ago. When a shout goes up,, Doctor someone has stolen your Tardis, he looks up and its gone...
Suddenly, the Doctor heard a cackling noise. He knew who that was. It was the Master. "I'm going to get you! You will die, Doctor! Die!" "No!" screamed the Doctor. He woke up. He was in the Tardis. "Oh, I've just had a nightmare!" He ran to the console room, and there was Clara, sat on an old seat the Doctor has got. The Doctor, pulled a leaver, then the Tardis dissapeared.

The Doctor went under the console to do some maintenance. "I'm going to make this Tardis blend in with it's surroundings and stop it being a police box if it kills me!" he said, trying to fix a wire under the console. He pressed his sonic screwdriver and it buzzed. Suddenly, the Tardis started to shake uncontrollably. "Oh, no! What have I done?" The Doctor said. "Doctor, you'd better look at this, quick!" said Clara.

The Doctor got up and looked at the scanner screen. "The Master's Tardis! It's following us." He said. "That's right, Doctor! I'm out to get you!" Said the Master, cackling, evily, through the Tardis's speaker. "You can't be after me. I sent you back into the Time War, just before I regenerated into my Eleventh persona.." said the Doctor. "That means the Time Lords could be back!" "Oh, no Doctor. Just me. I managed to unlock enough to get myself out, but no-one else." Said the Master. "Yeah, yeah!" said the Doctor, pressing a button to turn the scanner off, then the speaker.

He turned to Clara, Tardis still shaking a bit. "We need to defeat the Master once and for all. Stop him from regenerating ever. Possibly kill him." "How will you do that, Doctor?" said Clara. "I need to phone my old friend Martha Smith, formerly Jones on Earth. She'll know what to do. She's met the Master before. I've still got a mobile phone that she left me. I'll use that." Said the Doctor. He grabbed the phone, rang directory enquiries to find out her new number for her and Mickey's house. Once he'd got the number, he rang it. A voice answered...
'Aren't you a clever boy'.

It was the Master.

'You really are so desperately predictable Doctor. Who else would you turn to than the faithful Martha Jones? The only one of your puppets to have defeated me? But this is not the voice of Harold Saxon. The Little Drummer Boy. I was weak and vain and ruined...by a woman. A human woman. And then a savage lost in the wastelands feeding on...Offal. That will not happen again. I am a changed man. The perfect example of evolution with its finger on the fast forward button. From peasant to King. And I will rule again Doctor.'

The sense of disgust in his voice was palpable.

'Where is she? What have you done to Martha?'

'Can't you hear her? Oh. But of course not. That would be the gag. I had to stop her screaming. It was constant. This primitive technology. Oh for a camera phone just so you could see her squirming'. The line went quiet for a moment and then the silence was broken by the sound of the Master slamming the handset against a table.

'Nope. Still not working'

'Let me speak to her. Please. I need to know she's ok...where's Mickey?'

'The husband? The husband is busy. He heard talk from U.n.i.t of a nest of Zatharin about to hatch and get all murderous in Berlin. Of course when he arrives he will load up his gun and go swaggering in and he will find nothing. And when he realises his folly he will return home and again...he will find nothing. An empty bed. An empty house. A domestic Mary Celeste if you will. And no Martha Jones'.

The Doctors mind was racing.

'I need to speak to her. Give me that at least. I need to know she is alive'

A pause. That seemed to last a lifetime. Or at least a human one. And then spluttering, the sound of someone catching their breath and the barked instruction 'Talk'.

'Doctor? Is it really you. Tell me it's you'

'Martha...'

Another pause.

'Your voice. It's changed. We thought you were dead. We all did. After we saw you that final time and yo vanished like a ghost'

'I came to say goodbye Martha. I was dying. I did die. Or at least the version of me you knew died. I changed. But I am still the Doctor and I will find you.'

'Where have you been Doctor? All those years, all that running. The tales that were told of you. We kept telling those tales. But I thought I was going insane. If it wasn't for Mickey I would've been. So we would tell each other stories of you every day so we wouldn't forget. It was as if you were nothing more than a fairytale, a storybook from our childhood. You vanished. But the monsters never vanished. And so we kept on fighting them. We keep on fighting them. For you. But Jack and Sarah Jane and Rose...they seem like myths now. Memories that fade a little more with each setting of the sun. I never gave up hope that you would come back though. There was always hope.'

'Well I had to fade from view. The universe became too small and people needed to forget. But here I am. Same old Timelord, same old Blue Box. Though you should see the interior these days Martha...it's nifty'.

Martha stifled a laugh.

'Where are you Martha. Where has he taken you? I need to know'

'I don't know where I am. Me and Mickey had just returned home from a scouting mission to Glastonbury...'

'Ahhh Glastonbury' the Doctor let out a nostalgic sigh. 'A wonderful old time. Did I ever tell you about the time I sat round a campfire with Marc Bolan? I helped him write a song. Though I suggested he call it '31st Century Boy'. Much more appropriate...'

'Doctor! Is now really the time?'

The Doctor straightened his bow tie with his free hand, enjoying the memory before the urgency of the here and now snapped him back to attention.

'What were you doing there Martha? Why Glastonbury?'

'It was the Tor. That ancient building. We heard talk that it was more than just a monument. We heard it was a beacon. A communication device to call forth...well we never got to find out'.

The sound of a struggle crackled down the airwaves.

'...and that's quite enough of that. Do they never learn? Your friends? Your weapons? Or should I say your cannon fodder. Some would say its brave for Martha to try and tell you things with a gun nuzzled in the back of her head. Me? I CALL IT STUPID. Enough of this chit chat. It has been lovely though old friend. No. It hasn't. I'm lying. Again. Time to go. And Doctor? Catch me if you can'.

The line goes dead. Just a mocking electronic tone ringing through the doctors ears. He places the phone back on the Tardis console.

'Doctor?'. Clara looks at the Doctor sensing his worry. His rage. 'What now?'

'Now Clara? To Somerset! To Glastonbury! To Avalon!'
"What about the souffle? asked Clara. "We can bring the souffle with us" replied the Doctor.
Clara went to the Tardis kitchen and put the Soufflé in an airtight tin. Back in the console room, the Doctor had set the coordinates for Glastonbury, in June 2013. In fact, the first day of the three day music festival. Clara walked to the console room and there was a jolt. The tardis had landed.

The Doctor looked at the scanner screen to check outside. "Oh, dear. It seems I've got the landing a bit wrong. We have materialised in the middle of Glastonbury's Abbey ruins." He said with a frustrating sigh. "That's all right, we can just get out and deal with things, can't we?" said Clara. "I'll have to move the tardis and re materialise in another part of Glastonbury. While I do that, if you look in the clothes room, you'll see some clothes to change into that are appropriate. It is Summer, after all." said the Doctor.

Clara put the tin down, and walked to the clothes room. She noticed a pair of Denim shorts and a purple top. She put those on and then walked back to the console room. "How do I look?" she said. "Oh, Clara, Clara." said the Doctor. "What is it?" said Clara. "You are wearing Amy Pond's shorts and Rose Tyler's top." he said. "But don't worry. Life's too short. Come on. We can get out now. I've landed the Tardis in a field, about two minutes walk from the festival."

They walked up to the doors, and got out, Clara clutching the tin. It was really sunny, and pleasantly warm about 19 Degrees C. It was about 4pm in the afternoon.
The Doctor opened the Tardis door and stepped out. He paused for a moment to take in his surroundings and then held out an arm and pointed finger. A clumsy 360 degree twirl and then a declaration of 'that way it is then!'.

'Come along Clara. No time to waste. We have a Martha to rescue'.

Clara sauntered out of the Tardis, a still warm Soufflé in her hands.

'Really now Clara. Couldn't you just this once leave the desert behind?'

Clara shot a withering look at the Doctor.

'I am hungry. And anyway. We are in a field. We need a picnic. Picnics are always good'.

The Doctor sighed wearily.

'If you insist. If you insist. Now to the Tor we go'.

Clara stopped. 'The Tor? But the festivals that way. Fun is that way. You know. Fun? F. U. N. Maybe about time we had some. Its all being chased by angry Potato's with big shooty things and running down corridors pursued by slimy big teethed green things with you. Just for once can we relax?'

'Relax? Relax!?!' the Doctor exclaimed. 'Relaxation is for health spas and even then they can be far from relaxing. I remember having a carnivorous cucumber placed upon my face by a vengeful masseuse once. Tried to eat my nose. And my chin...'

'Mightve been a good thing if it had...' Clara retorted.

'And since when was relaxation ever fun? Danger Clara my dear, that is where the real fun is. So while your idea of fun might be that way...' The Doctor pointed towards the billowing smoke and waving flags in the distance where the sound of merriment was all too loud '...my idea of fun is this way'. He pointed towards Glastonbury Tor, wreathed in mist and some distance away.

'Well if you say so. But I mean really. If we must go up there could you not at least have parked the Tardis up there in the first place?'.

But the Doctor couldn't hear her protests. He was already bounding through the grass with his sonic screwdriver waving in front of him and that familiar look of steely determination and impish joy fixed across his face.

Clara grasped her Soufflé and ran after him.

The Master's Revenge - Part 2

"First of all, we need to find Martha, so follow me" The Doctor took out his sonic screwdriver out of his pocket and started to walk. Clara followed while looking around at all the tents. "Have we got a tent Doctor, one with a view would be nice?"remarked Clara as she stopped suddenly outside a teepee.
A 4x4 was seen coming in the Doctor and Clara's direction. It had a UNIT logo on the side of it. When the vehicle stopped near them, two people got out. Two females in UNIT clothing. One of them was Kate Lethbridge Stewart, the Brigadier's daughter and the other was called Winifred Bambera, who the Doctor had last met during his Seventh incarnation.

"Kate? Winifred?" said the Doctor, puzzled. "Is it Martha? What's happened?" He was feeling more and more panicky with every breath. "Who are they Doctor?" said Clara. "You could call them old friends of mine. She is called Kate Lethbridge Stewart, the daughter of the late Brigadier of UNIT. That's the Unified Intelligence Task Force, formerly the United Nations Intelligence Task Force. She helped me during the year of the cube invasion. And this woman was the Brigadier after Kate's father retired. She's called Winifred Bambera." said the Doctor.

"We have news on your daughter, Doctor." said Kate. "My daughter?...Oh, Jenny!...She's dead. You can't have news of her. She died in my arms." said the Doctor. "She is still alive. And she has managed to get in touch with us at UNIT. She wants to help you find Martha." said Winifred. "Alive? How!" said the Doctor. "She's Time Lord. Just like you." said Kate. "Two hearts and everything." said Winifred. "A daughter? You've got a daughter?" Gasped Clara. "I did have. This is a mistake. It has to be. A trap!" said the Doctor. He pointed his screwdriver at the two UNIT women.
"This is not a trap." said Kate.

Kate got her radio and pressed a button. "Hello, UNIT. Get in touch with Jenny and say to her that the Doctor is at Glastonbury in the year 2013 in June. Then Jenny will be able to get to him." "Yes, sir!" said a voice on the speaker. "Jenny will be with you within the next few hours."

The two women got back into their 4X4 and drove away. The Doctor noticed someone standing behind a stall, selling teas and coffees. "How would you like a coffee, Clara? I'm thirsty. Warm weather unsettles me." said the Doctor. "Ok, then." said Clara.
The Doctor and Jenny meet up again...

Hello Pop's.

Hello Jenny The Doctor feeling a bit awkward.

Jenny says, Dad I need you, I was hurt and now I need to regenerate but its not working, I need your helping hand on it.

Suddenly Captain Jack turns up and says helping hand?.

The Doctor says Jack you have done that before, we do not need it now.

Holding hands The Doctor looks after Jenny and she regenerates....into

A new lady who looks like Kate Middleton,

She looks like the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Lethbridge Stewart says, I know I organised her security.
It was around 8pm now and Kate Lethbridge Stewart was back. The Doctor and Clara had checked into a hotel. They were still in Glastonbury.
"Oh, something's not right." said Jenny. "My regeneration isn't working...I've got to change back." She held out her arms and regenerated. The Doctor, Clara, Kate and Jack were pushed back, due to the force of this and looked away so the brightness didn't hurt their eyes.

She was back as her original self again. Blonde hair, striking eyes and a beautiful smile. "What?...Er? I don't get it...Jenny?" said the Doctor. "It's still me!" She said.

There was a knock at the door. A note was pushed under it. It read: "This is the Master. Meet me outside the Abbey tomorrow and I'll give you back, Martha. Then you and your companion can go on your way again."
Kate was getting unsure about this. "This is not right...Doctor, you have to get back in your Tardis. I feel this is a trap. You can take me back to UNIT HQ first." "Be careful Doctor. I know what can happen, as I've been with you before." said Jack.

The Doctor paid the hotel bill, then he, Clara, Kate and Jenny headed for the Tardis. They got in and the Doctor set the coordinates for UNIT HQ. "I'll send my officers round to Glastonbury to gaurd things and make sure Martha is ok."

Jack used his Vortex Manipulator to teleport himself to UNIT HQ. He arrived there waiting for the tardis.
But the TARDIS did not arrive. Instead it materialised on Glastonbury Tor.

"Sorry for the deception", said the Doctor, "I didn't know if the Master was bugging us. Plus it gets us away from that meddlesome Jack. He's a bit too gungho for my liking"

"Pot, Kettle, Black!", mumbled Clara to herself.
We now cut across the story to where the Master is..Under the Abbey.

His plans are forming, He wants revenge after going into the vortex with the time lords ( last seen at the end of Time).

He wants to have his revenge on the Doctor, and under his control of hypnosis he has Martha, she has now been trained to kill the Doctor twice, the second time during his forced regeneration, whilst Mratha tried to to fall under his spell by reciting nursery rhymes and Lady GaGa songs, it wasn't 100%.
successful.
Back at UNIT HQ, Jack was getting impatient. He walked over to a UNIT soldier and said, "The Doctor was supposed to meet me here. What's happened?"
The soldier looked on his computer screen. "It seems as though the Doctor is still in Glastonbury." "Still?" said Jack. He looked at the screen to comfirm this. "I've got to go." Said Jack. "I'll be back."

He pressed a button on his watch teleport device and he dissapeared. "Jack, where are you...!" said the soldier.
Jack appeared in Glastonbury and looked around. He could hear music blasting from the festival. He continued looking until he could see the tor with something tall and blue on it, with white-ish lights emmitting from the windows. "There you are Doctor." Said Jack.

He ran towards the tor. Once he got there and managed to climb every step up it, he was exhausted. "Doctor," he said, panting. There was no reply. Only a cackle, then the Master crepped up behind Jack. He grabbed Jack and used his Tissue Compression Eliminator device. He said, "I'm going to make you small. I'm going to make you so small, that you will not be able to help the Doctor, EVER again!" He cackled.

Jack screamed, as he tried to struggle. A few seconds later, Jack was really small, just like the Doctor was when the Master was on board the Valliant. "You've changed!" Said Jack looking up at the Master. "Yes, I took over another man's body, just after I managed to get out of the Time War. I look good, don't you think, Jack?" said the Master, cackling.
"You will regret this!" said Jack. "You cannot do anything. You're too small!" said the Master. "Where is the Doctor? And his friends? What have you done to them?" said Jack, angrily, with a tinny, squeaky voice.
"This really won't do" said the Doctor as he gathered the litter that had been dropped by the Daleks of the future. "Yes, Doctor, it is a bit much, especially the crisp packets" agreed Clara. "Do you hear that in the distance Clara?" asked The Doctor "A faint echo of time gone by?"questioned Clara. "No, it's Jack of course, my buddy, my old mucker, he needs our help" said the Doctor as he started to run towards the Tardis. "Doctor, remember..." shouted Clara as she ran after him but just as she reached the Tardis door, it slammed shut and then the Tardis disappeared. "Doctor" sighed Clara disappointedly.
The Master was still cackling in triumph when he felt the muzzle of a gun in his back. "No sudden moves", said Jenny. "Hand me that Tissue Compression Eliminator".

The Master, scowled, but complied.

"I don't know who you think you are", said the Master, "but you're messing with the wrong..."

Jenny knocked him out with a blow to the back of the head

"Megalomaniacs talk too much, don't you think, Jack?", she said.

"What I think is, what are you doing Saturday night?", said Jack cheekily.
The Master woke up tied up by Jenny and Jack was standing over him saying who loves you baby.

But then a transporter beam locks onto the Master, he is beamed out, and Jenny and Jack say, now what?

A voice comes out, (Chan)get to the back of the queue if you want your revenge on the Master, he has upset to many other races (Tho)

Jack says who is that, in reply the answer is (Chan) don't you recognise me Jack? I am Chantho, I tried to kill the Master before and he got away by regenerating, this time its the end.(Tho).

Jack says, but arnt you dead?
The Tardis arrived, just after Jenny had returned Jack to normal size. "Chan, it is the Doctor, tho!" said Chantho, excitedly.
"At last!" said Jack. The doors opened, but no-one got out. "Chan, That's kinda strange, tho." said Chantho, puzzled. "I think I'll go, first and see inside to make sure it's safe." said Jenny. She went inside. "It looks okay to me." said Jenny.

The two others walked into the tardis and the doors shut. The tardis started to take off. It juddered and shook, with all it's force. While in the time vortex, the Tardis became stuck, and stopped. "We've stopped!" said Jenny, somehow being familiar with the tardis controls and buttons.

She pressed a button and suddenly, two people arrived in the tardis. It was Rose Tyler and the human version of the Doctor's tenth incarnation. She'd managed to build a machine that got her out of the Parrallel world perminantly.
"Who are you?" Said Rose. "I'm the Doctor's daughter. Long story. I'll tell you later." said Jenny. "Well, I'm Rose Tyler, and this is my husband, John Smith." said Rose.
"Oh, my gosh!" said Jenny. She noticed that the man Rose was with, looks excactly like the Doctor that she met in the past, on the planet Messaline.
"Doctor?" said Jenny. "Chan, It's the Doctor, tho!" said Chantho. "The Doctor, well, the Doctor I used to know, somehow got a human version created, because of his severed hand." Rose said to Jenny and Chantho.
"Hello." said John Smith, the Human Doctor.

"Now, can you help us, Rose?" said Jenny. "Let's see." said Rose. She looked at the scanner screen. "This is tricky. Your stuck in the time vortex. I'll see what I can think of." said Rose, putting her hand on her head, puzzled.

The Master's Revenge - Part 3

Rose still has some connection with the Tardis it fly s for her and lands in an estate in South London, Rose says, hey this is where my Mum lived.

Now Rose says one problem solved, whats going on then?

Daleks Cybermen seen em all. Hey I finished of the emporia Dalek,

Jack says, thats my girl!!! Jenny says to Jack stop flirting.

John Smith then says, I can now smell the Doctor, he is close, very close, very close...and faints..

Jack says should I give him the kiss of life?

Rose says no he has just fainted, he is still breathing.

Jack says I know but I just fancied a snog.

Jenny says, stop flirting again.

A familiar voice is outside... Missed me then?
It the next day now, around 12pm, a bit cloudy and chilly, and the Doctor is outside. He opens the tardis doors and gets in. "I remembered that I had a vortex manipulator on me from when I had an auton as a companion." "An auton? You've got to be kidding." said Rose.
"Long story...Rose! Oh, Rose." Said the Doctor. He smiles at her, then they have a big hug. "You alright?" said the Doctor.
"Never better. See you've changed again." said Rose.

The Doctor looks on the floor and notices the human Doctor. "I see you're still with him then?" said the Doctor. "Yes, we are married now." said Rose. She holds up her hand and shows the Doctor her ring. "What happened?" said the human Doctor, coming round and feeling dazed.
"We need to find the Master, quick. He's got Martha Jones. Oh, Rose. I have some news for you. She married Mickey." said the Doctor.
"Oh, right. What, Martha? The woman who I saw when we had the Daleks invading? Davros, and all that?" said Rose.
"Yes, her, when we had the Daleks trying to gain control of Earth." said the Doctor. "Where is Clara?" said Jenny.
"She staying in Glastonbury for now, for the festival. I'll pick her up once things have been resolved and Martha is safe again." said the Doctor.

Kate Lethbridge Stewart walked in and closed the doors behind her. "Doctor, please can we go to UNIT HQ?" She said.
"Alright. That first, then we find the Master. He got to be stopped." said the Doctor. He pulls a leaver and off they go, to UNIT HQ.

The Tardis arrives at UNIT HQ. The crew get out and stand in front of the blue box.
"Doctor!" said a UNIT soldier, saluting. "No, no. No thanks. I don't want a salute, thanks." said the Doctor.
"Everything alright here?" said Kate. "Alright apart from the fact that we are getting a trace of a ship of time lord design in flight. In the vortex." said the soldier.
"The Master!" said the Doctor. "Can you disable his ship?" said Kate.
"I'll try." said the soldier looking at his screen about to press some buttons. "If you can, then his ship will fall uncontrollably through the vortex and will never be able to stop. His ship will run out of air with hours and the Master will die." said Kate. "Then we get back to Glastonbury and rescue Martha. "It should work as there only seems to be the Master on board." said the Soldier.

He pressed a button to dissable the ship. The ship began spinning too and fro, uncontrollably, then blew up. "Chan, that was good tho." said Chantho. "After we've rescued Martha and took her back home to Mickey, we must get you home to Chantho." said the Doctor. "Then I'll deal with Jack and Jenny."
Jenny was looking confused. "I'm confused", she said.

"I thought Chantho had already captured the Master and teleported him to his ship. So why do we think that ship we blew up was the Master's? Plus, just when did 20th century human technology get to be able to both see into the vortex and disable a Gallifreyan TARDIS?"

"Something's not right here."

She shakes her head and struggles to concentrate. The scene around her fades and reveals she and Jack strapped to chairs in some stone basement. A kind of spinning globe is beaming multicoloured patterns at them.

"It must have been some kind of brainwashing", she thought. "Whatever teleported the Master away may actually have taken us instead!"
A woman in fancy clothing started walking towards them. Her hair was up in a bun with a crocodile clip attatched.
"Whoever you are, let us go!" said Jack, struggling. "I, am known as the Rani. I am a time lord also, but I escaped from The Doctor's home planet, just to get away. I didn't like the Time Lords. They were too controlling. I see the Doctor has got you two as companions now?" She said.
"No, we were just visiting him. He does have a companion. She's called Clara Oswald." said Jack. "Why are we here?" said Jenny.
"Say hello to my allies." said the Rani, pointing behind her, chuckling.

Davros came out in his chair, followed by two bronze coloured Daleks. "Davros!" said Jack. "I see you have captured two people the Doctor knows. You have done well, Rani." said Davros.
"Exterminate them! Exterminate them!" shouted the two Daleks.
"No! I want them alive!" said the Rani. "I can't die anyway. I'm immortal." said Jack.
"And I'm part time lord, so I'd regenerate." said Jenny.
"Part time lord? You can't be serious." said the Rani, in disbelief, with a frowned expression.
"The Doctor visited the planet Messaline once, and a machine took DNA from his hand and I was created." said Jenny. "I am called Jenny, and this is Jack." She said.
"Kill her!" said Davros.
"No!" screamed the Rani. A dalek took a blast at Jenny and she groaned and her lifeless body slouched forward.
"What have you done? You cannot do this!" said Jack. "We have put an end to this, once and for all." said a Dalek.
"What is this place?" said Jack.
"You are on a planet that the Daleks have made their own, after the Doctor, in his seventh persona blew up Skaro." said the Rani.

Suddenly, electrical energy could be seen around Jenny, and the strap around her waist broke. She fell to the floor and turned round, lying on the ground on her back. She started to change, but there was something wrong. She was struggling to regenerate. The yellowish light dissapeared, and she was left in the same body, unable to change.
"She's dead! She can't change!" screamed Jack.
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" chuckled the Rani. "Take her body and dispose of it." said Davros.
The Rani picked up her body and walked out of the room with it. "Her body will be burnt until it is no more." said a Dalek.
Outside, the Rani was met by two Ogrons. She dumped the body at their feet. "Take the body away and burn it", she cried exultantly. Then she went back inside to gloat at Jack.

The Ogrons took the body down several corridors until they reached an exit to the wastelands outside. It was an arid landscape. Two suns burned in an orange sky. The Ogrons leaned the body against a wall and headed off to find something flammable.

No sooner had they disappeared than the golden glow re-emerged around Jenny's body. As it subsided, she gasped and opened her eyes. "Phew", she said, "wasn't sure I could hold it back that long". Pulling up her sleeve she breathed a sigh of relief. "I knew it was a good idea to camouflage my time bracelet as jewellery", she muttered. "Good thing they didn't scan it".

The sound of the Ogrons arguing with each other, brought her head up with a jerk. "Sorry, Jack", she muttered, "I'm not the indestructible one. Better fetch help". She touched the time bracelet and vanished.
Jenny had transported back to her pod, her little home from home, gadgets within easy reach. She picked up a brooch and held it to the light and then put it in her pocket. "Fully charged, off we go" She moved the dial on the bracelet, tranporting her back to find Jack playing dominoes with the Rani.
Hiding in the shadows Jenny watched and waited. They were exchanging small talk but it was clear that the Rani was after information, trying to assess how much Jack knew of her plans (which appeared to be nothing). After a while, the Rani got fed up with beating Jack at Dominoes. She stretched and left the room. A Dalek could be seen guarding the door outside.

Jenny snuck up behind Jack and clamped a hand over his mouth. He started, but relaxed when he saw it was Jenny. She showed him the brooch and he grinned…

Meanwhile, back in Glastonbury the Doctor had met up with Clara. They had found a secret door in the Abbey leading underground. As they crept carefully down the stairs they could hear the hum of machinery. The door at the bottom of the staircase was locked but the Doctor made short work of it with his sonic screwdriver. He opened the door a crack and peered in to see Martha tied to a chair in a room full of computers and strange machines.

The Doctor looked across the room towards the familiar figure, strapped into a chair with a single shard of metal inserted into her forehead. The face was vacant.

'Ah yes. The delectable Martha Jones. I had almost forgotten. How remiss of me!'

'Is'nt she just how you remember her...Doctor?' The Master spun around and fixed his gaze towards the Doctors hiding place

'Come out come out wherever you are!'

It seemed the covert approach was now out of the question so The Doctor abandoned all restraint and ran over to Martha and fell to his knees, before reaching out to clutch one of her limp hands which were strapped tightly by her sides/

The Doctor burned with rage. He looked up into Marthas eyes but her gaze was elsewhere, into space.

'i'm sorry. I'm so so...'

The Master ran up behind the Doctor.

'Sorry? Is that the word you're looking for Doctor? You're often sorry aren't you. Yes. Look into her eyes. See what you've done.'

'This was all your work Master. You did this.'

The Master was now dancing around in circles, a twinkle in his eye.

'You are right! This was my work. And isn't it splendid. I cooked her. No...I BOILED her. Until she was just right. And then with this...' The Master taps his fingers on the metal protrusion which sprouts from Martha s forehead

'...with this as my spoon I tapped her upon the head and I cracked her open. And then I emptied her . All that yucky human gloop you value so much. All that memory. All that ephemera. I scooped it out'

The Doctor was broken.

'Martha.please. Say something'

'You're talking to a shell Doctor. I cracked her open. The Martha Jones you knew is gone. She is now but an empty vessel bobbing around in an ocean of confusion and pain, There is nothing human in there anymore. And all the better for it'

'Tell me why....why do this?'

"Because you care about her Doctor. Hurting the ones you care about is sweet revenge for me. By the way, that blonde girl with the aggressive streak? She's, how do you say it? Toast? My accomplices have taken her somewhere you'll never find her and, the last I heard, she'd just been exterminated and the body burned to a crisp!

Shame we can't do the same to that Captain Jack upstart but, he's the guest of the Daleks so I don't expect he will be having a pleasant existence from now on.

I'd consider killing you now but, where's the fun in that? Let's see if you can fix your friend. I'm feeling a warm glow just thinking about all the hours of endless frustration you're going to be facing.

The Master gives a maniacal laugh and sweeps out of the room. Fortunately, he doesn't notice Clara who has hidden behind some barrels...

"Doctor! I'm over here." said Clara.
The Doctor looked round, but couldn't see her. He looked puzzled. He pressed a button on his sonic screwdriver, and looking at his device, said, "Ah...Over by the barrels!" He walked over to the barrels and saw Clara was shaking.
"Oh, Doctor!" said Clara. She tried to hug the Doctor. "Shh! It's alright. I won't let the Master get you." said the Doctor.
"Come on. We need to get out of here, before the Master comes back."

They both start to walk out of the room, when suddenly the Rani walks in, having used her Tardis to get there.
"Where do you think you two are going, eh? Think you can outsmart the Master and I?" said the Rani.
"The Rani!" said the Doctor, angrilly.
"Who's she?" said Clara.
"Another Time Lord. Or rather, Time Lady. I'll explain, later."
"That's right, Doctor. You remember me. How clever of you." said the Rani.
"Don't think you two are going. I'm keeping you here, indefinately...Oh, and by the way, your daughter Jenny. She's dead. The Daleks have burnt her body, and they are dealing with Jack as well."
"Oh, Jenny." said the Doctor, Sadly.
"What, Jenny's dead?" said Clara, puzzled.
"You are lying! You're lying!" said the Doctor.
He points his decice at the Rani, and she says, "Dalek, it's the Doctor. I've got him."

The Dalek comes in. It's the White Leader that the Doctor first saw when he and Amy Pond visited Winston Churchill.
"Kil him!" said the Rani.
"EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" screamed the dalek. The dalek took a shot at the Doctor, and he fell to the ground.
"Doctor!" said Clara.
A yellowish glow emmits all around him, and he looks sad.
"I'm sorry, Clara. I'm going have to change. Goodbye!"

He closes his eyes and starts to regenerate. Clara and the Rani cannot look as the brightness is too much.

"The Master may have wanted you alive for some reason, Doctor", cried the Rani triumphantly, "but you have been a thorn in my side for too long. Dalek, quickly, before he regenerates, shoot him again!"

The White Dalek moves menacingly forwards, standing over the helpless form of the Doctor, it lowers its gunstalk…

…and explodes. It's top crumples in on itself, a white foam-like substance gushing out and dripping down it's now smoking torso.

The Rani spins round to see Jenny standing in the doorway holding a Dalek exterminator gun expertly in both hands.

"Someone call for an exterminator?", she said.

The Rani speaks into her communicator. "Quickly, beam me out of here!", she cries. Jenny swings the exterminator round to point at her but she is too late. The Rani has vanished.

"Jenny", cried Clara, "the Doctor's been shot!"

Jenny runs forwards and grabs hold of the Doctor as the golden glow surrounds him. The glow seems to surround them both. When it dies down the Doctor stumbles to his feet. "Tell me the worst", he says, "What do I look like? Old, Young? Do I still like bow ties?"

"You look the same to me", said Clara, confused.

"Little trick I learned", said Jenny, "if you like a body, why change it", she grins.

The Doctor hugs Jenny. "I thought you were dead", he whispers, "Again"

"You should know me better than that", said Jenny, gently. "Come on, let's see if we can't do something to help Martha"
