I've just had the original battery replaced in my car and while all the other electricals coped, the Pioneer avic-F930BT sat-nav threw a fit at having the power unplugged and is demanding the password be re-entered.

As I bought the car 2nd hand and don't have much hope of tracing back who originally installed / set the password... Can anyone suggest how I reset / hack the system to get around this problem please?

There is an on line manual here

http://docs.pioneer.eu/Manuals/AVIC_...RB3598_manual/

Pages 168/9 suggest that removing the vehicle battery resets the unit to "factory" condition. So chances are it has reset the password back to the default. Which is probably in the manual somewhere.

There is a downloadable version here

http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/ar...0BT/media.html
(in a variety of languages if you don't fancy English )

You could try 0000 or 1234, they seem to be the default for lots of things, otherwise it may be on a sticker attached to the unit.

I would assume that in the very nearly 4 years since that post you quoted was made the OP has either found the code, ripped the radio out in frustration or bought a new car.

If it's a factory fitted part or accessory then try contacting a dealer and hopefully will be able to get the code for you but this will cost you money and may require them to remove the unit.

These may relate to you, but it is confusing if you use another old thread for your problem.

Hopefully, I saw the odd post from yesterday and your useful advice given at the time of the original posting but didn't notice the time lapse. I wish people would just start a new thread.
