I used to have an galaxy s3 on voda with a paltry 500mb data allowance i rarely saw the 3g icon and download speeds were slow and as soon as I could I would link upto wifi

I got an iphone 5 on 3 the other week on 3 unlimited data and wow I'm getting over 10 mb almost always and not worrying about extra data charges is such a great feeling.

So happy

I nipped over to them the other day on my N4 to try them and the missus went to them on her S3. We are on O2 just now and the voice quality on 3 is absolutely astounding compared to O2. Like night and day! Just arranged to port our numbers over today

Signal is much better and internet is so much faster as well.

I notice loads and loads of people are moving to them at the moment. I've been happy on Three for years. They have always been very reliable, great speeds and great coverage at a good price. I absolutely love them, but then some forum members probably know that already !!

Just ask wavejock...

On a serious note, Three have come a long way from the old days in terms of network coverage. Their customer service is still a bit iffy though. But its an improvement over the early days. And their 4G commitment is really really good and puts them ahead of the competition straight away.

The network blows everything else out of the water, and you only have to look at Root Metrics to see how good it is to be honest.

O2 voice quality stands out as being extremely poor compared to any of the other networks. Its appalling and its most notable on the receiving side of the call.

Another here thats been with Three for around 4-5 years, never had a problem really, as above internet is always really fast, calls are fine.

People talk about the customer service to be not so good, but i hardly ever have a problem so ive not needed to ring them, the last i rang them was probably a year ago, and that was only because i wanted to know when my upgrade was

For me their everything id want in a network provider, their very reliable, always have a strong 4-5 bar signal most of the time, internet is blazing quick. Above all its consistent, and i dont remember ever being without a service/signal

I ditched O2 for Three back in October, after having been with O2 for years.

No regrets!

It's great not having to worry about data limits, great being able to stream/download/tether as much as I want.

My contract is up in October with EE (Orange), and having read that Three won't charge a premium for 4G, I'm thinking that October is going to be an ideal time to consider my options between Three and EE.

Coverage is virtually identical, and EE are now building a decent 3G network, and Three are updating theirs. So, it's just about price for me.

Mrs Molehusband moved to 3 from Orange a few months ago, and has been super impressed - no dropped calls, very quick browsing etc. She was very skeptical initially because she was with 3 years back, when customer service and coverage was poor.

I'll be making the same move in a month or so when my Orange contract ends.

When my tmobile contract ends in a month or two i will be making the switch to Three also, all i have heard is positive feedback from the network, so looking forward to it.

I use 3 for my laptop, since 12 for a SIM card that lasts 90 days or 3GB is just a unbeatable deal.

I live and commute in a rural part of the country, there is 3G signal for almost all of my route (by train), there's 3G coverage everywhere else I use it, and the speeds are great too (if I bought a 3G card supporting better HSPA standards I guess it'd be even better, all of my hardware is 7.2Mbps down, 2Mbit up). With O2 or Vodafone I'd just be permanently on GPRS, or even the 21st century technology that is EDGE if I'm lucky. (I see people on the train struggling to do emails with their O2/VF dongles, while I'm watching videos on my laptop with 3)

For my phone though I can't have anything other than EE - same great 3G coverage as 3 but with the seamless 2G backup for when the occasional blackspot comes up.

I tweeted Three asking how the service was in my area before I sign up, and got this as a response:
"One of the masts in your area is suffering from quite severe congestion. There's issues with other masts too."

It's impressive to see that Three are willing to give this information before I even sign up! I have recently joined T-Mobile and am experiencing congestion but they have yet to admit to it. They first blamed my SIM and suggested sending another, then said my coverage isn't good where I am!

If -75 dBm HSPA+ 21.6Mbit isn't a good signal I don't know what is! I rarely exceed 500kbit/sec unless I test in the middle of the night!

I've been with 3 for years and years, I have 7 contracts with 3. They are unbeatable.

I saw something a while back saying the highest income households in the UK have SkyTV, 3Mobile and use iPhones.

This could be true as SKY say most their customers access Skygo and mysky etc via iPhones and 3 is the biggest seller of iPhones in the uk. Me and my family have several iPhones from 3, Sky tv with 3 multi room boxes and we have a higher than average income.

This is the difference between different networks in different areas. 3 around here is not too great, 3G drops out a lot in fact looking at the maps, they still only got one mast for the whole city.

Three's coverage map has massive white spaces covering entire towns near my locality (Anglesey).

I can only guess that as EE show some coverage in these areas, that the cells serving them are Orange!

I am into my 7th working day with my T-Mobile Full Monty SIM and am unsure as to whether to keep it, swap it to a non-full monty tariff, or switch to Three!

Opinions will be valued

I have an N4, Virgin media with 2 x tivo, 1 V+ box, on 3 now and i guarantee my income is miles more than yours is.

Anyway, that study was years old when iphones were top and was done by an apple fanboy.

However, what this has to do with anything is anyone's guess....

I've been with Three for years ever since they brought out the video phones (you could record a video for a whole 10 seconds!!), the funny looking ones E333 I think they were called.

The fact you can say your "income is miles more" proves it isn't. I have a very good income but I imagine many on here have a higher income. But not many would say it was "miles more" lolol. Anyway I never conducted the research I just seem to fit within its findings.
