Okay, says this on IMDB.
Its going to be based around the International Dance competitions which occur every May in Blackpool, which sounds good but I have doubts.
The original article says : "Blackpool" will be centered around the annual competition in Blackpool, English....er english. Not a good start or just a typo.
Is it going to be filmed in Blackpool?
Hopefully, but have a gut feeling that someone will think, okay its by the sea, like our Atlantic City, so lets use that as a double, or be set indoors with stock outside footage.
Its in the UK. So lets get the actors to sound like they are from Downton Abbey.
I hope I am wrong, as the two producers are professional dancers so should know what they are talking about.
So what does anyone else think, good idea for a show?

It wouldn't appeal to me, but who knows how many other people might feel differently. But don't take something being put in "development" at a cable channel to mean that there will ever be a real TV show. US cable channels buy a lot of ideas for projects and few of them ever make it to the screen. In April 2010 the media reported that Starz was developing a series about William The Conqueror. I was happy to read that. Three years later there is no William the Conqueror show, and Starz isn't going to give us one any time in the future.

True, the amount of developments and eventual pilots are 10 a penny.
Would be interesting to see, but I dont think it will ever see the light of day as established shows like Dance with the stars is on its 16th season, and yeah while remaining popular in the US (like our own Strictly) in a couple of years when this show see the light of day, the appeal may have worn off.
