Stranded on a desert island, you have the choice of 8 discs to have with you There's no Man Friday, just you and your miraculous, everlasting record player

What's YOUR choice?

(Still thinking of mine)

OK, just off the top of my head, at nearly 11 o'clock at night...

Wild West Hero - ELO
Walk on By (long version) - The Stranglers
This Woman's Work - Kate Bush
Fire and Rain - James Taylor
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin (I know, it's such a cliche!)
Jolene - Mindy Smith
Rule the World - Take That
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - The Smiths

And if the complete Harry Potter series was available in one huge book, I'd also join the poster above and have that.

I did mean albums - so much more content than a mere single but as most have got singles as well, then that will be permissable

Yes, good idea re a book or set of books, and don't forget, you could have pop or classical albums They've got to last you for years and years and years, and if you are rescued, I bet the first thing you'll do is to throw those albums into the sea

I've wanted to read his dark materials since they stopped making the golden compass series but my friend who I was going to borrow it off says it would be too complicated for me

Never seen the appeal of wuthering heights myself

We're turning the music forum into a book one

Do you mean the film series The Golden Compass is the US title for the first book in the HDM series Northern Lights. And i'd say go for it i love HP but think HDM is infinitely more interesting and a much more Exhilarating read and its not all too complicated it does require your attention but its pretty easy

And my two loves combined Music and books 1 often leads to the other (kate's wuthering heights for example also she led me to Ulysees which not so great )

Yeah we watched the golden compass and my mate who had read his dark materials told me more about it and it sounded interesting so ill definitely read them, even if I have to purchase them myself!
Woah there - do you realise you just said this series is better than harry potter is that even possible!
Yes music and books go hand in hand, certain songs remind me of certain things I've read and vice versa.
