Ray may have been in another reality show, but he was first and foremost a extremely good dancer cum actor.

If they are going to go for reality show garduates, the obvious place to start is some of the people who did well on SCD. Quite a few of the shorter females should probably have doen DOI in the first place.

If you're famous enough to have been on SCD then you don't need DOI.

I'd forgotten about the barrel-scrapings of Tana Ramsey and Elen Rivas. Lauren was at least on a well-known show which probably puts her on the same footing as Josie. I think everyone forgave Chloe for basically not being famous at all because she turned out to be quite good

I imagine Josie is more famous in her own right than some of the people who've been on so-called Celebrity BB, and she'd help to pull in that slightly younger demographic as well. If the series survives another year then good luck to her, I say - let's just hope she's better than Lauren

I don't think she's winning material, but I think she will be quite good if she does do it, she is quite healthy now a days with all this weight loss and the weight DVDs are quite energetic

There's no real difference in casts. Beth is more successful than Louis. Chelsee v Jorgie? Chegwin v Grant? Duncan v Harry? Samia and umpteen people from Emmerdale v umpteen people from Eastenders. Daytime TV v Daytime TV. Zoe v Dani? Sports hunk v sports hunk.Tucker v Ricky? Suzanne v Alesha? Pamela v Stephanie? Oona v Edwina..........

SCD has had some bigger stars like Emma Bunton and Martina Hingis, but no one voted for them. SCD has a disdain for reality TV stars, but otherwise the veteran TV, boyband and disbanded singing group, daytime TV, and soap stars dominate both shows. Some DOI stars dance too well to have gone on SCD, some SCD stars would have stood out and been better sized or fitted for DOI, and vice versa - see Louisa and Zoe. People from both shows have gone on to do bigger things - sometimes like Ali and Suzanne the same things. SCD has been probably a better career move in recent years and overall

The only really big difference in the last few years is that SCD have cast to get the boyband and younger male voters more - while DOI hasn't found replacements for Duncan or Gareth - and SCD may have got more viewers for it. Both though now seem locked into a cycle of male, rather dull, winners and both haven't produced anyone outstanding for a couple of years.

Josie probably just doesn't relate to the right audience. She's from a show that ended 3 1/2 years before DOI 2014 will end - which had an average audience of 3 million on another channel. They never used the people from ther early years of BB where the audience figures were twice as big and the press coverage vastly greater. The shows also have the advantage that the economy is doing so poorly that there's more and more possible candidates for the show not working at the moment - so if anything there amy be more people to choose soon rather than fewer......

My total knowledge of her is as a panel member on CBBBOTS.

Her accent, real or feigned, irritated me so much.

Anyone reading this with her accent.............I'm sure your accent isn't half as annoying as hers.

Josie Gibson is a no-mark who appeared on Big Brother, got off with another contestant, broke up with said contestant, and has since made money by losing weight, gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight...... (you get the picture) and appearing at regular intervals in Hello magazine. She has all the personality of a dead body, and is as entertaining as watching paint dry.

Now a romance would be really funny. Will Samia let him out of her sight though?

Samia may have moved on to her next Corrie "love interest" by then though as I can't see Maria and Marcus lasting the way she whines and moans at him

We might have Chantelle on next year as well. The reality route is to re hash a faded career, why would someone who never had a career be allowed on.(If you call victim and yo,yo dieting a career then they might be allowed on).

I've no qualms with contestants who have already done reality tv, or found initial fame through reality tv, so long as they've actually had a legitimate showbiz career, especially when the "reality tv" is more talent based than being filmed in your bedroom. So pop stars like Suzanne, Gareth and Shayne who found fame through Popstars, Pop Idol and X Factor respectively are good bookings, but people from Big Brother, who have had no actual career other than being a professional celeb/dieter, should be avoided.

SCD is guilty of a few I'm a Celeb graduates, but they seem to gloss over that and focus on the rest of their careers, while getting the benefit of the tabloid interest it gave them. So long as the person has enough of a career beyond that, it shouldn't matter.

I'm not keen on the WAGs either. SCD seems to have been more guilty of it than DOI, but Elen Rivas was something of a low. The likes of Pamela Stephenson and Heather Mills both have their own careers, and were decent bookings IMO, but neither would have been considered if it weren't for their husbands.
